Seeing another thread here just kind of sparked my memory regarding a dream I had a long time ago. I must have been about 18. This was before I was saved, back when I was actually an atheist. I had no real biblical knowledge and especially no biblical interest. This dream resulted in me waking up in a panic, and it shook me pretty hard. Nevertheless I dismissed it as fantasy and went about my life. Here it is, as best as I can remember it.
I remember being with my family, including my mom, my sister, my dad, and my grand parents, I think. We were in a room I've never seen before, and I got the impression it was basement. It was a finished basement and it had those small rectangular windows whereby you could see outside.
I remember that we were all huddled up together as if we were in the midst of a tornado. There was a sense of perplexity and intense fear, no one knew what was going on. I remember that it was daylight outside, but something was terribly wrong and we all knew it. As I looked out the window (this part I remember vividly) I witnessed the sun slowly turn pitch black, and the room started shaking. Here is where it gets really weird.
Remember, when I had this dream I was an atheist. But for some reason, in this dream, I was the one aware of what was going on. I don't remember everything I said, but I do remember telling my family that they needed Jesus. I remember leading them to salvation, as the whole room was shaking like we were in a massive earthquake.
The sun was black, everything was shaking, everyone was paralysed with fear, and I was leading them to the Lord. During this a blinding white light shone through the windows and lit everything. The shaking got more and more intense and the light expanded and got brighter and brighter until it filled absolutely everything. All I could see was this light, then I woke up.
This is not the only apocalyptic dream I've had, but it was significant in that I was an unbeliever in real life, yet I seemed to be a believer in the dream. I think this dream may have been in some way prophetic, at least for me personally. I don't know. It seems these end-of-the-world dreams and becoming more and more common with more and more people. Even a few of my unsaved friends have had strikingly similar dreams.
What do you all think? Have you ever had a dream like this?
