I don't really have much of an idea of what he'd be like yet, except manipulative, corrupt, controlling.... Maybe James and .. Alyi? I forget her name..maybe they could make him feel threatened and he tries to get the amulet in order to get rid of James.... Hmm...still brainstorming...

I have an idea for a bad guy already. You could be the Shade.
A Shade is created when someone who is powerful enough in the ways of magic abuses that magic, whether for good or ill, and as a way of balancing such a force, Magic itself creates an opposite, one with all the powers of the original person, but with opposite alignment. James is a good guy, thus his Shade, known as the Dark Hunter/Kalv'Shan, will be a bad guy, nearly his twin in every way except for his red pupils, as opposed to James' gold pupils. Just a thought, if you want to control him. It'll be the Shade's main mission to seek out James and destroy him.

Question: I know the Om'shan and their Sorceress are bonded, but does that mean they are bonded in life as well? Like say if one dies the other dies as well?

Also, would it be possible to put all the information about Om'Shan/Kalv'shan into one post as a quick reference? That would be great as I keep having to search all over the OOC to make sure I get my Om'Shan down correctly...

Yes, but I had never read Eragon before coming up with the Shade. Imagine my irritation on finding THAT out. Just know he's like James in many ways, but he's also his own person. He'll have all of James' knowledge from the time he was created, but afterwards he'll develop on his own, like any other person.

As far as this bond thing, it's not necessary to do the Life bond thing, but let's say that certain duos are that committed. By forming this special bond their powers are more attuned to each other, and they both have slightly longer life. As for James and Ayli, they aren't bonded at all. The war kept James from finishing the very last part of his training; bonding with a Sorceress. He had to leave or the world would have been covered in darkness. I'm brainstorming a little with the Om'Shan and whatnot. Basically, here is James' story, highly condensed, and how I'm going to rewrite it, in a sense....grrr...for this RPG anyway.

James was brought up in a village where no one can use magic. It was forbidden and highly regarded as sinful. His parents didn't necessarily agree with it, but they wanted to live away from the mainland of Na'Damor. We'll call the world something else for the sake of this RPG.
James came to find that he was invulnerable to fire. Upon reaching the age of sixteen, he found out he was able to use magic. He hopped the next ship to the mainland, where his adventures brought him to Joline, whose prophecies led him to Amra. Amra was his training grounds, but once it was found out that he was the next Kalv'Shan, he had to leave for a previous city he'd visited, for it was the centerpoint for a spell to gain power over the universe, and someone was trying to invoke the spell. The wizard Rakar. James stopped him, but he had to use a great deal of magic to do so, and that is how the Shade was created.

As for the bonding, it's a simple matter of a spellform and a simple merging of the couple's Magick, through touch.

I gave you some info, Lady. And i posted this earlier, but I guess it didn't go through. I thought the RP was starting after James had stopped Rakar, so he's gone after Joline to find out about something. He knows something is wrong (the Shade) but he doesn't know what it is or why he feels such dread.

I'm still not sure about a few things... Small details, like if the Shade knows who James is, & if not, what he does know about James, etc. Just want to make sure I know what I'm doing when I make my first few posts.

From the point of the Shade's creation...he knows everything about James, because in essence, he IS James. Think clone, but with memories intact, and he's James complete lawful opposite. So everything from birth to the point of the Shade's creation is in the Shade's memory. Anything James can do, you can do. That doesn't mean you'll know something new James has discovered right away, though you could use it if you saw him use it. Just remember that the Shade will develop into its own personality apart from James, so he could become someone entirely different.
