• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I had a friend tell me that she had a blood test done and it showed acohol in her bloodstream. She denied it and says that its impossible since she hasn't had a drink in many years.

My question is this.....Is it possible to have your blood system show traces of acohol without consuming it?

Thank you for your help, I am just trying to figure out if I am getting lied to.

's and :prayer:'s... there is small traces of alcohol in lots of things in the kitchen, but it's cooked out as soon as it's cooked or baked. nothing drinkable  unless you like heavy weird tastes. like vanilla or cherrie.
cold medicines do. i worked as a narcotics agent. the drug tests trace any amount of substances ans alcohol... maybe your real question is what % is normal or acceptd as a non-viable amount. whay do you distrust your friend? is there a question there? pray and be pacient to see if you are needed. blessings!

Thank you GV for replying :)

I had already thought about the medicine thing, but this has happened twice in two different time frames. Its just making me suspicious.

I am trying very hard to keep a level head and be very objective about the situation. Keeping the Holy Spirit present in this is going to be my main focus. Praying daily for guidance in how the Lord wants me to be guided in this situation. I am sure there is a purpose and a plan for it.

So, please pray for me to not let my hurts and disappointments of what she is doing get in the way of the Lord. Pray that I make this situation the Lords will and NOT mine!!!

God bless,
Newbeliever

Yes , every person has alcohol in their blood in a very low dosis.

I had a collegue who never drinked a droplet because of his religion, however he one day collapsed drunk in the toilet, he of all people had a rare disease in which his liver produced alcohol.

It could be that this friend of yours has elevated alcohol levels in a natural state, but also its not always drinking. Some food types like advocate ice cream can create levels of alcohol in your blood.

OR she could be downright lying. =\
