AMVs

I have never seen a thread about this subject in any forum. I have been a member of a few forums for a while. I want to know what AMV's you like. An AMV is an anime music video. An anime music video is where clips from T.V. shows and or movies are put together with music to make a music video. One AMV I love is:

This AMV combines the awesome Rammstein song Sonne with clips from the awesome movie Sunshine.

It is very rare to see a well-made AMV. This should be posted in the anime section though, but I have to say that more than 98% of the existing AMV's are complete crap.

I am going to have to vehemently disagree with you. There are many very well made and awesome AMVs.

Sturgeon's Law is as valid for AMVs as most other forms of media. And this is coming from someone who edits AMVs, and has been for just shy of 9 years now.

Anyhoo, YouTube isn't exactly the best sampling source*. I'd look at the A-M-V.org Viewer's Choice Awards results and stuff coming out of the AKROSS contest (both are held yearly; VCAs in February, AKROSS around December).

*Many of those VCA winners and AKROSS entries do show up on YouTube, though. Heck, a couple of my videos have been put up there by other people.

IMO, look at the older ones first, as those have most of the videos widely considered to be classics (on the VCA side at least; the AKROSS stuff didn't really start coming to Western attention until around 2007, I think). Generally speaking, the Org's announcement forum has a disproportionate share of moderate-to-high quality traffic as well.
