Amniotic fluid

I am 36 1/2 weeks preg with my 2nd child and had an ultrasound last Thursday due to having a really hard fall on my stomach. They wanted to check him and make sure everything was okay. I had no bleeding and no leaking at all. I went in on Monday for my 36wk appt and they are sending me in for another ultrasound tomorrow because the amniotic fluid is the lowest possible number it can be but still be considered normal. But my dr is concerned that the fluid will lessen especially because I am carrying a rather large baby. If the number lowers enough, they will induce. I know that I'm far enough along that he will be fine - but I wondered if anyone else has dealt with this problem? I'm really nervous about it for some reason.

my cousin started losing her amniotic fluid 1 or 2 weeks before she had her baby. she was in the shower getting ready to go to the hospital to be induced and her water broke and she had a normal, natural, healthy birth, and a beautiful baby girl. Everything will be ok...i'll be praying for you and your little one.

I had that problem 2 weeks before I had my son. I was pretty much on bed rest and going in to get US every 4 days to check the fluid. The last week I was on complete bed rest because it came back down again. The day they had scheduled to induce I went into labor.
One nurse told me to drink lots of water to increase the fluid. When I told the Dr. the instructions that were given to me. He laughed and said drinking water would have no affect on my fluid. Don't know who is right.
