I wish I had posted this yesterday (when it aired) but did any of you watch it.

I'm reserving judgement, but I thought it was handled well, and the Amish young adults came off very well.

The freakiest one on the show was the Vegan.

i saw on oprah a show about the amish, and when they are 16 they can go check out the outside world and many of them don't go back. (to being amish)
That's a shame. They'd rather indulge themselves with the pleasures of the flesh rather than appreciate what they already have. (That's not to say I can't blame them though.)

I felt bad for those amish kids, the other people just made fun of them and weren't very excepting. But yeah that one Vegan girl thought cows came from outter space. She said they had really different DNA...I think some meat would do her good.:D One girl (amish) had never seen the beach before and they took her to the beach and she was sooo happy, and she also saw pieces of art in gallery for the first time. I wish they would be able to get out more and experience so much more. I think alot of them kinda have realized that there living their lifestyle is letting them miss out on so many things that improve life and are enjoyable.

I have enjoyed this show. I know lots of Amish people and I think this really documents the struggle with the decision these Amish kids have to make. Its so much more than a religion...its like the foundation for their whole way of life and, even in the best of situations, things definitely will change between the one who leaves and their family and friends who chose to stay. So even if they enjoy and would love to live in the outside world with all it has to offer, its definitely not a easy decision to make...its one that will effect the rest of their lives.

I was horrified by the way the "city kids" reacted when the Amish first showed up! I kept thinking that if I had to live with people like that, I would not walk...I'd RUN back to my home community as fast as I could! I think it will be interesting though, to see how it will all play out through the rest of the season.

[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]! I LOOOOOVE this show!! My boyfriend and I always watch it!! I just think Mose and Jonas are the cutest things ever (like cute personalities cuz they're so sweet and innocent)! That was SOOO sad when Mose almost drowned and then he cried! :( Sometimes I feel bad for the Amish people!

Haha, this show is awesome! I missed the second episode though:( I hated it how the city kids were making the amish people feel bad when they first showed up! That one girl who's organic or veagan or whatever she is, she's freaky! Cows are from outer space? Oh come on!! That was the most retarded thing I've ever heard anyone say!

I really enjoy this show. I try to get hubby to watch w/ me but he says 'we watch 2 reality shows, we don't need to watch any more'... so he's not really in to it.

I do think the city kids were extremely rude to them when they first saw them... but I think a lot of ppl in this world would have been quite shocked to see them standing at the door... it's a culture most of us know nothing about and we all fear the unknown to a certain extent... They are coming around tho, they are definitely protective of the Amish kids now... which is cool... this is an experience none of them will ever forget.

I also like the fact that they're doing some constructive things while on the show, like most everyone going to the Center with Reese (and really seeming to enjoy it too!), and cleaning up the alley and stuff like that. I think that's helped to bring the two "sides" together too.

OMGosh!! That was sooo awesome when they went to that Center with Reese! It was so interesting to see them all interact with the mentally disabled!!
