CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I love the Amish way of life. As high as gas prices are getting we all may have to start reexamining that way of life!

I live in Lancaster, PA. And I love the Amish lifestyle. I do not agree to much with the Amish, but I do love how much conservative they are. ^^

Upstate New York has lots of Amish and Mennonite. Especially Wayne, Yates and Seneca counties.

I was in Amish country this weekend in Ethridge, TN. I have some friends down there that give me good deals on bulk veggies when we are canning. There are ALOT of Yoders and Gengrich's there. I bought my wood burning stove there three years ago. It is what we heat our house with in the winter.

I don't know of any amish places because living in England. I think there are amish people who live in Ireland though.
About a year or so ago, there was a program on t.v about four amish teenagers coming over to experience life in Britain. The places they stayed does not represent the whole of Britain of course
I respect the amish for not wanting to be apart of the world - who can blame them.
