America's Next Top Model was preempted on Wednesday in my area because of a football game that was televised in it's stead.

The good news is that it (the same show that a lot of you saw on Wednesday) will be aired tonight at 9:00 on UPN. The bad news is that is the same time the Presidential debate will be aired.

I can't watch both. My VCR was causing me fits, so I disconnected it, so I have no way of recording. :sigh:

I was sorry to see juile go. It is not often we get to see women of south asian decent on tv and in magazines.
Last night I was shocked by Amanda's behavior, not shocked like *gasp* just shocked as in, did you see when she was dancing around calling eva a b*t*h. Oh my goodness. Then would it really have killed her to say excuse me? Eva is not my favorite, but Amanda certainly could have been the bigger person.
I also noticed that after she told the judges she was legally blind she added "and I expect to be completely blind in 5 years". That to me is plugging for pity. It is a useless piece of information to them I think it is added to pull heart strings- either by "wow, shes strong to be doing this" or "awww, poor thing". That's just my opinion.
And that kelly geeeeeeze how annoying can you be!!!
My favorites this time around: Yaya

Well, I for one can totally understand that garbage that Amanda got about her blindness from those jeolous, catty girls. It's why I don't tell people about my illness much either. It's exactly how people act. You think you're being honest by stating what is, and not trying to hide it like you're ashamed, and people think you're only saying it to get sympathy or manipulate them. If people know that you have a problem, but they don't see you stumble and fall, because you've gotten really good at covering, as any of us who have a physical problem do, they are not only not sympathetic, they're down right mean. This is one of the negative sides of humanity that I really hate. That being compassionate is always conditional.

Last nights show was very catty. I often wonder if this is just what happenes when you put a lot of young women in a stressful situation. Maybe negativity is just contagious, or like the old 50's B movie "The blob" it just grows.

The jeans add was a retro Brooke Sheilds like add. I didn't have a problem with it. But then, I've never bought into the "be ashamed of your body" dogma either. Lucky me. I had more of a problem watching the "Heatherette" guys.

I wish Amanda's hair wasn't so yellow. I like it blonde, I like it long. It does bring out the beauty in her eyes that her mousy brown non-style did not. But it's a little too brassy for my taste.

The styles on that runway fashion show were so ugly. Oh my! :D Well, the fashion world does sometimes lean towards fantasy. And I can respect that from an artistic standpoint. But Holy cow! Not meaning that as a segway, but Tocarra's breasts! She was getting applause probably because they were ready to jump out of that costume she was wearing. Weird how she was so edified by the applause and didn't seem to be at all concerned that it was probably because she was having a costume malfunction.

Loved Jeneiphers "get out of my way" thing when Anna was going to tell off Amanda. Poor Anna..."If you ever touch me again..." Couldn't take the threat seriously. She seemed to stutter and quake a little when she said it. :sigh: Anna sure photographed well during the shoot though. Beautiful picture.

It was nice seeing Yoanna from last season. I've seen her in a few print adds and a commercial too. Her advise to the girls was good too. (paraphrased)Focus on yourself, don't make it about comparing yourself to the other girls.

Wish this show would show some women designers. I hate it when my mother is right. She said that the reason why women's fashions don't fit or flatter women is because they're designed by gay men. I didn't want to believe her. But the show seems to support it. Grrr.

Meghablonde, if you're in the U.S. why are you seeing the shows on a delay?

Perhaps the reason why Cassie's rumored bulemia wasn't discussed is because it was determined to be heresay.

It was a little odd to me that Norelle would be flaunting (shimming) her naked breasts to Jay Immanuel on camera over and over again. What's that about? And I was a little surprised that she can't walk in heels. Maybe she's not comfortable with her height. That might explain her gawkiness when she wears shoes with a heal on them.

I hope your not saying that everyone likes Amanda so much because of what I had just said about being able to relate to her dealing with peoples pettiness over a physical ailment. Because, I haven't actually decided who I really like at this point. They all seem to have their good and their bad qualities. And at this point, I'm not sure who I believe deserves to win. ;)

Everyone, I talked to Old Soul. She's been really busy, but says to tell you "Hi".

I was kind of hoping that Anna would be the one to go this time. Guess it's true what they say, If you're beautiful you can get away with anything.

I think Amanda projected herself as a sincere, caring mom in the beginning. But this time she showed she's just as immature and catty as the rest of them. She set a trap to catch Eva stealing, then accused her of stealing when she couldn't find her rings? Only to remember  I hid them so they wouldn't be taken then forgot I did it.

Most disturbing line from this episode "I wore high heels in Junior High" the blonde, "Heatherette" man.

And I agree with W.S. about that girls eating disorder probably not being discussed because it wasn't proven. I don't think any of us want to jump on their rumor bandwagon. That was not cool what they did.

This episode irritated me.

Hi Guys,
Youre not kidding about this episode being catty. Man oh man, all of those chicks were getting on my nerves. We didnt get to see Yaya much this time around though :(.
And WHAT was up with Jennipher (?) with the ANTM on her booty?? BAAAAAD call. I felt so sorry for her, She mustve just wanted them to say "Yeah you showed spunk", but instead she showed herself for nothing, and was made to feel like a idiot. Kinda low.
It was painful to watch.

I do know what you mean Wisdom Seeker, and I agree with you. I didnt understand where the girls were coming from after the fashion show, and that was not ok. Yet, I believe that Amanda did plug for sympathy before the judges when she said that she would be completely blind in 5 years. Something changes (at least for me) between "Im legally blind" and "Im legally blind, but I expect to be completely blind in 5 years." They didnt ask her anything. I guess I just like to keep information. I dont reveal much or any information about my own illness unless I absolutely have to. Who knows, perhaps she feels she has to.

Nobody's posted since the last show? How wierd.

I don't agree that Amanda is trying to be manipulative by telling people the truth. And besides, this idea that someone is trying to get sympathy is just an excuse to not feel guilty about be callous and uncaring. We forget that we're all connected to each other and that if we ever expect compassion to be shown to us, we must remember not to be so miserly with giving it to others. These girls need to grow up.

This last show...I would have wanted to bury myself in the sand if I had to pose in langerie in a store window. But they did pretty well over all with it. Amanda probably shouldn't try to do langerie adds. Tocarra really seemed awkward in this scenario. I think the judges were right. She has so much personality. But she isn't good at translating that to modelling. She needs to work on that. I'm very glad that the girl who has repetatively been destroyed by the comments the judges are making to her won the challenge. ( I forget her name. Sorry)

Janis Dickenson gave a great lesson in how to pose. She's so great. I'm sorry, but I really like her.

It was nice to see the vulnerable side of Tocarra. It's amazing how strong people become when they have unpleasant family stuff that they've had to deal with. It was nice to see her reaching out to the girl who won the langerie challenge...who's name I can't remember. I have no doubt it was because of her encouragment and understanding that she did so well.
