And there are busybodies who, through sheer and complete ignorance, feel emboldened to harass people for the medical decisions that doctors make about people they know nothing about; In between calling the parent a child abusers while their own brothers a f sisters down the pew molest children.

One of the complaints against the transsexualism curriculum is the fact that basic education is being neglected.

Part of freedom, however, is the freedom for people to make horrible mistakes.
Apparently that makes freedom “bad” somehow.

Your argument doesn't have evidence so doctors who care about evidence based medicine (which is most outside of the freedom clinic) won't care one wit about the pearl clutching

Yup, and some believed bloodletting and leeches would cure diseases. All because that was consistent with what they knew at the time. Research continued, as it always does, and people learned new things, and the attitudes and practices changed. That's how science works.

I think you'll find very few doctors today would recommend a lobotomy or smoking cigarettes, let alone bloodletting or leeches, as standard practice.

First, surgery on kids is very rare, and many medical institutions refuse to do any form of surgery for anyone under the age of 18.

Second, people who do receive gender affirming surgery tend to experience significantly less psychological distress or thoughts of suicide than those who don't. So we know there are benefits here and now.

In the worst instances, it means double mastectomies and grotesque “bottom surgeries,” in which new genitals are painfully grafted from other parts of the body and take years to heal — if they ever do.

Seriously. From what I've read from real teachers (as opposed to the made up ones featured in random right wing outrage of the day) their views are along the lines of "if I could actually brainwash kids, I'd brainwash them to stop using their phones in class and turn their homework in on time".

The responses actually posted here (as opposed to this made up guess) took a different approach - one questioning why certain groups were singled out as pedophiles while the evidence shows the problem is way more prevalent in other groups.

We know that 0.6% of children will be transgender (to some degree or other), why is it “bad” to inform them and their peers about a medical condition that they might have but do not have the words to express that they think that they might have this “condition”?
