Did anyone catch the premiere tonight?

That guy with the special tires for the bike looked pretty surprised when he got turned down (A+ for enthusiasm though!!). I didn't get all of it ~ were those tires supposed to be reflective? If so, that actually could be a big lifesaver, if someone is riding in bad lighting conditions (which, I know they shouldn't be, but still).......

The one I totally hope makes it all the way is the firefighters "Guardian Angel" invention. He put on a GREAT demonstration for it. With some support from outside contributors, that seriously could save lives.

What did you all think? What was your favorite invention (or inventor)??

I missed it. What was his invention?

It's called the "Guardian Angel" ~ I'll explain it a little bit more shortly...

This firefighter made an awesome presentation ~ he came in in full turnout gear, and played a video of a Christmas tree catching on fire. The video had a timer in the corner, showing how fast that fire can engulf the ENTIRE living room. I honestly don't remember the exact time for it to completely consume the room, but I do remember that at the 15 second mark, the entire tree was gone, the chair next to it was engulfed, and the fire was crawling along the ceiling, already taking up 1/2 the room.

He went on the explain that the fire will spread so fast, often in the middle of the night, that people often have very little chance of getting out. He also, very tearfully, recounted a personal story of seeing a father exiting a fire-engulfed home carrying the lifeless body of his child, with the sobbing mother following behind.

The "Guardian Angel" he invented is a fire-retardant system. From what I remember & understand, the system is contained in a wrapped box that looks like a gift that can sit under the tree. A wire runs up the center of the tree so you can't see it, and the "angel" on top is actually the water dispenser. When the tree starts on fire, & the "angel" heats up to 150 degrees, it will automatically set off a large burst of water (from the gift), dousing the tree & the fire.

This one NEEDS to be on the market!!!!

I missed it...what time was it on? This is a show that hubby and I actually watched last season, lol.

It's on Wednesday evenings on ABC ~ it's on here at 7:00 PM, but you might want to check your local listings to make sure that's your time also.

How about the Therapy Buddy guy? LOL...
Ev-e-ry-thing is go-ing to be al-right.

Aw, he's sweet!!

Actually, I'm glad he came back this year. I think the judges blew him off too easily last year, and I'm glad the judges this year are giving him a chance!!

I seriously think the place where those could really do the best is with ANYONE who has to deal with abused, neglected, or abandoned children. I really think those children could get the most out of hugging/holding something that's talking to them like that, especially if they are having a hard time talking to anyone else because of what happened.

Who knows, I believe it could be a good "therapy buddy" like he says...
