The concepts of music ...ahh were to began..Music (in my opion) in a form of art. It is a way people express there selfs...and as shown in American Idoit..they give there opions.

If all one had to do to be successful was have an opinion about something--everybody would be famous. Just because you have an opinion doesn't make whatever you're creating good.

even if they had no vocals wat so ever and they couldn't play a inturment ( i think thats wat you think of them) they would still be on top..b/c the world likes them

I don't want to put words in TheShasta's mouth, but I think the issue here is not if the members of green day can play music or not, but that their music, due to the fact that it's now being played for so many people, is that it's become overproduced. Dan4FSH pointed out that he liked green day's earlier records were better. Lots of people also liked mxpx back in the pokinatcha days but don't know because the general feeling is they've gone for a more poppish sound. Again, I don't listen to them because I can't withstand punk of any sort, but I think a big reason why people don't like Green Day is because they have an incredibly "poppy" sound and people don't like that.

On a side note, something rather interesting today happened to me, and that was having a member of green day's tour members sit in on our jazz band's rehearsal for this big concert tomorrow night. Which was pretty cool.

I can understand and sensarilly respect people liking/loving green day, everyone should listen to what they like. But calling them outstanding musicly???? You probebly don't play guitar if you say that cause Green Day (as most punk) is a powerchord fest (probebly simplest form of song you can get to play)

I never said everybody likes Green Day. Theres not one band that every single person in the world would like. But you still can work your way to the top..and maybe worldwide fame.

I wouldn't buy it. But there are some people out there who are obbessed with bandslike Green Day. And it even says the band name in it they'll buy it. No sensible person would ..but some people would. And sompeople might buy it to see it is really just staitc. With so many people in this world ..and with nobody thinking the same. You can never tell.
