Amazing Race: Unfinished Business

One last thing I just noticed on the TAR website, TAR is taking applications now for the next race.

Just spent some time on the TAR website, such as watching Phil's video diaries. There are a lot of people upset about the Cowboys leaving last night, especially since they are the only team that didn't really "cheat" (either being a part of giving another team answers or using answers given to complete a task). The majority of comments seemed to think that cheating in that manner (giving another team the answers, such as "22 KM" last episode) should be penalized as the team did not actually successfully complete the task. They complained that people are given penalties for taking taxis on some legs, or now even following taxis when you can't ride in one, and think that not having to go back and re-ride the course because they were given the answer is equally wrong. I'm curious what people here think.

Personally, I have always found it a part of the game -- that you create friendships with other teams and you help each other out when you need help. OTOH, there are times, like last night, when it seems like too much "cheating" is going on -- I seem to recall only 3 of the teams successfully completed the task, the rest were handed the answer. So, I suppose I would like to see some sort of "cheating rule" IF (and this is where I think it would be tough to create/enforce) it doesn't stop teams from completing tasks together (where both teams contribute) and having alliances.

As for last night, I had no issue with it (though I hated to see the Cowboys leave because of it) because the rules always seem to have been that there is no penalty for giving answers or receiving answers for other teams. Just that in the future, I can see where such a rule could make sense as it largely invalidated the task and the difficulty of completing it.

I don't think that sharing information or teaming up for tasks is cheating per se, and it's less surprising to see it this season than on previous ones. A lot of the teams have raced together, watched each other on TV or otherwise know each other through the show.

Was rather glad to see Kent and Vyxsin go at the end of last episode. Though I wish TAR would have figured out exactly what happened in the case of the "missing mold". Whoever was guilty should have had a penalty, though; just as the Globetrotters had the penalty back in Japan for accidentally moving Ron and Kristina's things. It should have been possible for TAR to go back through the footage to find out who was at fault.

I have to say the Globetrotters annoyed me with how they wanted to place the blame with no evidence. I understand being upset but if you are going to blame someone for the act, at least know what happened before you start pointing fingers.

And rather bittersweet news at the end, while next week will be a two hour episode it will also be the last episode. Hard to believe we are down to four teams. I'd hoped we would get the normal extra episode, since it seems like the first week with four teams is typically a non-elimination leg, but sounds like next week will just be an hour with the four teams followed by the final with three teams.

Also, I want the Globetrotters to be the next team eliminated. I didn't care for their U-turn of the Cowboys (though I understand it) and the whining and accusing in the last episode; I just haven't been impressed with them this season. I don't have a real favorite for the final though I guess, if I have to pick, I'd like to see Zev and Justin win. Who would others here like to see eliminated before the final and who would you like to see win?

I think the Globetrotters are the next to go in my book. I'd be happy with Gary/Mallory or Zev/Justin winning the whole thing

It was good while it lasted! Alas, my least favorite of the final four won. But I didn't dislike them this season.

I feel the same way. Jen & Keisha, and the Globetrotters, were the two teams I didn't want to see win. I thought J&K didn't play well enough, and the GTs played dirty/mean too often. It really does all come down to how good your cab driver is.

I'm disappointed that the finale came down to a bad cab driver. It also seemed like tasks were often "too easy", at least from the standpoint that it didn't really separate the teams. I've wondered, though, if the "easy" tasks only seemed that way because the teams were experienced at the Race, not to mention all being strong teams.

I really had wanted Zev and Justin to win it all and was so disappointed, especially as they have been the strongest team this year, when they didn't make the final. I also didn't care for a team that hadn't won a single leg winning it all. I also think two of the teams, (Keisha and Jen and Globetrotters) looking out for each other is what got them to the finals. The Globetrotters should have been gone a couple of times towards the middle of the race.

Last, I was somewhat disappointed there was no "where the race has been" task, like we normally see in the finals. I like that recap of the race, find it a fun way to recall the season. In any case, it is sad that the Race is over until fall.

I completely agree. I was expecting that, and actually hoping for it because, historically, it is a very difficult task where teams can stumble and other teams can gain some ground. I thought if Gary and Mallory had been able to catch up to the other two teams at that particular task, they would have had a good chance of pulling ahead.

I was o.k. with Keisha and Jen winning though I was rooting for Gary and Mallory in the last leg.

I was a little disappointed with that too. Perhaps they could have worked that into the trailer setup.
