I But, it should be noted that hatred is NOT the only thing that causes people to react to new, progressive, or unorthodox behavior.
No, only the non-haters.
You do know that this is a conspiracy theory supported by the right, correct? There's no basis for any proof, and in fact it could be perceived as flaming to continue to make this kind of assertion about people.
I don't believe that anyone's getting paid to attend a Christian forum to argue about politics. It's just too silly to be true.
Uh...huh...A "hater" is one who does not bow to the views and politics of the person who is calling the name. It's interesting that I only see one "side" designating others as haters.
I've thought about Scott's insights, too. What I think accounts for much of it is that "the politics of personal destruction" works. It works with uninformed and disinterested people who, nevertheless, do vote.
Invent a complete lie about some candidate or other public figure and you are not only immune from defamation suits but the uninformed voter finds it titillating (and knowledgeable) to believe it and repeat it.
A few generations ago, such a thing would never have succeeded and, in fact, would have been considered scandalous; but today, the bigger the lie the more it is accepted. Not by everyone, of course, but there are enough people who will believe to be able to change the outcome of an election.
Are you advocating for violence? The CIA might just want to talk to you.
If I were an "operative" that was paid to go to political discussion boards I would work deep undercover and pretend to be a member of the opposing party. I would then post in such an irritating and obfuscating manner that I would draw the ire of people from my party and I would get them riled up and ready for action. I would also post opinions so obviously stupid that it would make the party I am "representing" look bad.
Then I would go out and have a beer.
But that is all business related and, um, China. It's called astroturfing.

I will say that the whole Yelp thing is pretty sad. I went to a hairdresser a couple of years ago and she told me that if I gave her a positive review on Yelp, she would discount me $10 off my next haircut. So I went on Yelp and warned others that they had this policy of what is imo "bribing" customers to give positive reviews.
I wholeheartedly disagree with this kind of thing. I want an honest opinion, not one that is bought.
It was a joke. Yes, I won't give up my day job. The French don't do humor, etc etc.
We do? Oh LOLOLOL. It's about time.I understand it's business related and china but I see no reason why the DNC or the RNC wuoldn't use the same techniques. Here in the US the government has started to crackdown on sites that post what are actually advertisements as news.
Oh and considering the turn this thread has taken I'm kinda amused to see we now have a "conspiracy theories" forum.
