CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Isaiah! My reasons [in no particular order]
- Gregory of Nyssa said Isaiah "knew more perfectly than all others the mystery of the religion of the Gospel."
- Jerome claimed Isaiah "was more of an Evangelist than a Prophet, because he described all of the Mysteries of the Church of Christ so vividly that you would assume he was not prophesying about the future, but rather was composing a history of past events."
- Isaiah is quoted more than any other OT book in the New Testament ["Ten of those references are about the Suffering Servant, how he will suffer and die to save many from their sins, be buried in a rich man's tomb, be a light to the Gentiles."]
- Luther wrote a hymn based on hymn [Isaiah, Mighty Seer In Days of Old].
- He's an awesome guy.
- God told him to preach in the nude.

One of those "grow your own crystal sets." Still, saying that it was the "worst gift" makes me feel terrible, as a gift is a gift and at least shows that the individual cared enough to buy you something even if you hated it. All gifts are good, as they are gifts.
