Ok, I know if we delight in the Lord, he will give us the desires of our hearts. Can we only desire things? Can we desire people? I was thinking we can't because humans have free will. But if you claim someone as yours in your heart and you desire them, then could God still bless you with them?

The second thing is my worshipping. I'm really trying to involve God in my everyday life. It doesn't seem like it's enough. I like to thank him and praise him, but I want to say it because I love him. On the same hand, I don't want to keep repeating the same things. Even if I want to thank him for the same things. We are supposed to meditate on his Word daily. Basically, I don't want to do things for God to impress him or out of obligation. I just want to please him and lead a life that pleases him and bring him pleasure and joy. I want to try less, but I don't know if trying more will help. I'm just frustrated. Seems like so much to do. What am I missing? :sigh: :help:

Have you ever done volunteer work? Maybe it is time for you to pick up a cross.

To me my life and service to Christ consists of three main things: Prayer, service, study.

Prayer is the most important thing we do as Christians. If our churches were burnt down, and our bibles were all taken away, and we were all arrested and locked up in jail cells everything would still be ok because we could still pray. Prayer is essential. Even if you were in the process of being martyed, and the enemy cut your tounge out of your mouth, you could still talk to Jesus with your heart.

Service is next on my list simply because faith without works is dead.

Finally, studying is very important because as you say, "We are to meditate on His Word daily."

Something to remember is that we are obligated to do certain things to honor God. Like having faith and clinging to His Son Jesus, and living by His Law. However, God does not want us to do these things in order to restrict us, but rather to save us from undue suffering. If one has faith in Jesus and becomes very close to Jesus, and follows God's laws as well as they can then they will not taste the bitterness of death. Seek to do God's will because you love God, and know that God's ultimate will is to bring you into everlasting life because He loves you.

Jesus said if you really want to know Me then pick up a cross and carry it along side me. When Jesus says this he doesn't say pick up a smaller cross and carry it way behing me. He says pick up a cross like Mine and carry it next to Me. Essentially offering us equality and friendship through service. Service is very important.

Sometimes we get impatient. I know I've felt the same as you at times, but God knows our hearts. Settling in with a relationship takes time. There are many thing in store during a lifetime. Mountains to climb and valleys to walk through. Your faith will be tested in them all, and will come out more pure, refined and stronger if we do not flee the trouble of life, but face them with God's help.
The desires of our heart come only when God has been established first, and if it is His will that we have them. I would imagine that once He is established there as first, the person would have a hard time remembering what it was they desired so much in the first place. We can know that God never gives us second best, and although we may think He has denied us something or someone of great desire on our part, He will give us what is truly best for our lives. We trust Him for those things, even through the valleys and dark places the world has in it. He is our true keeper and captain of our spirits, souls, and bodies, and we can have complete faith that He knows how much and how long - all the measurements concerning our lives here for this short time and what they should be. Trust in adhere to and rely upon Him (faith).
God bless...

1Pe 1:7 These trials are only to test your faith, to show that it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold. So if your faith remains strong after being tried by fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

1Jo 5:14 And we can be confident that he will listen to us whenever we ask him for anything in line with his will.
