The reason I suggest this is because I live in Canada and on the local news I heard about police shooting a kid 9 times only because he was holding a knife, a young girl is in critical condition in hospital because she was at a camp and the life guards weren't watching her so she ended up face-down in a pool, a women was pulled from a lake and her children died thanks to her husband, someone sneaked into a bunch of peoples houses and stole women and childrens underwear, and then in my peaceful little town and man was stabbed! That never happens here!

This is crazy! I never hear about this stuff in Canada! What was even worst was that the news channel SHOWED the shooting. They showed a man dying! I'm almost scared to leave my house:sigh:

I know what you mean. Last week I believe it was, I was going through Chicago and we had the radio on. Well the news report was that 17? people were shot the evening/night before. We have also seen gun violence with the Sandy Hook shooting, and other tragedies in the U.S.A. Even my school, very little only about maybe 1000 or less kids in the Elementary, Middle, and High School combined, had a lock down because of a gun threat. The media is too involved with trying to make a quick buck, that they almost never tell you the truth. My approach is to speak with my parents after a tragedy happens. I wouldn't live in my house forever, but I would be prepared for something to happen, although it might be a little unlikely. And always be on the lookout for other people in need.

It isn't that the world is going crazy it is because we have such great media.

Exactly what I was about to say. The media, not only is a tad off sometimes, but usually picks out very saddening stories. Don't give up hope, friend!! :)

God bless.

The fact that the United States closed their embassies in North Africa and the Middle East to prevent political assassinations from al-Qaeda, then fund the very same terrorists to assassinate another politician in Syria ...

The fact that Buddhists across Tibet are setting fire to themselves in protest to Chinese imperialism. The Chinese government calls these demonstrators ''terrorists''. The world doesn't care because they want cheap products. Thus all products are made cheaper at the cost of Tibetan suffering.

The fact that our politicians promise to lower our taxes then seem to increase spending. Since nuclear warheads and submarines don't seem to be enough, setting up bases across the world would achieve peace and stability.

And don't even get me started on drones, five words: Big Brother is watching you

Am I being a pessimist? No, I'm actually very optimistic that people will not vote for mad men ^_^

GLAD IM NOT THE ONLY ONE. lol.

I'm sorry you had a lock down, those can be very scary.
I like your out look, always looking for someone in need of help. I think try my best to always be on the look out for others in need.

The reason I made this is because one day I had the radio on and I kid you not, I heard that satan worshipers were going to buy a highway and put signs up saying why worshiping him was a good idea and worshiping and praising our true Lord and Savoir was bad and things like that. It boils my blood all over again just thinking about it!

Another really weird thing that happened to me is I had a friend from grade 4-9(Im in grade 10 now) and we met at our catholic school and started highschool together. She got a boyfriend and she completely changed, come to today she is doing drugs, underage drinking and she has (from what I heard) been through many boyfriends. I can't even wrap my head around that.

I didn't even know most of this. I try my best to avoid the news. That is, indeed very crazy.

God bless.

I also agree with this too! There are good stories out there that are just never told which sucks.

Thank you everyone for saying something I had no idea so many people had commented here. God bless everyone!

Yeah, I hated that lock down. Ya'll should have seen the restaurants and stores after that. We had to sit completely silent, with no food, and we couldn't use the bathroom. Worst of all, they scared us into thinking that the S.W.A.T. team was a killer. It's like, "You could have told us it was the S.W.A.T. team instead of scaring us -.-." My dad said there wasn't any need for a lock down. Yet knowing my school, "A lock down is needed for everything bad," it's so annoying. But, we all keep candy stashes with us every where in the school, it's actually really funny, but, if we ever have another lock down, it's probably going to be everyone talking and playing games on the floor, like floor paper football, or drawing or something, just not with nothing to do. That probably made no sense but, oh well. Anyways. That wasn't to make people sad or scared. It just makes me have to use the restroom and need to eat when I think about it.

Wow, I hate lock downs. I've never had a legit lock down but practice ones.

That must have been really scary. With the S.W.A.T. team and all.
That can be the problem with lock downs, if its not anything serious(like a fender bender outside, or a stray dog in the parking lot) then the next time no one will take it seriously, and I totally understand that. Some school systems just want the best for the students and their well being but when they do stuff like this it's hard to believe it.

That is funny that you guys keep candy around, it sounds like you're a pretty tight knit school. One of my old highschools was like that.
I'm not scared, just a little upset for you and the other students, but thinking about the candy stashes makes me chuckle lol.

Yeah, the candy stashes were funny:D But, it was scary. I'm just glad it's over^_^ I don't think my school was entirely thinking of both the kids and the logical solution. My school just wants "fame", that's at least what I think. As I have said, they only support sports, so they think that gets more fame. Anyways, my school over-reacts to everything :boredsleep: Oh well, only 5 more years until I graduate highschool:D

What's happening in Egypt is truly beyond me.

The government cracks down on Islamists, some of whom are armed. The Islamists then in ''retaliation'' turn on the Christian minority and start setting fire to churches.

...

They killed christians more than they killed muslims, I really cant imagine what they have done there. Looks like they will end like syria.

I'm glad i left lebanon, Seems like lebanon is next after egypt.
Well god bless all the world, I hope the peace will come one day.

I'm pretty sure more Muslims died than Christians in Egypt. Most of the fatalities were from the Muslim Brotherhood. Regardless many of them were armed with guns and were willing to fight, meanwhile the Christians are defenceless. I sincerely doubt that Egypt will end up like Syria, but it will have many issues that will need to be addressed in the coming years.

They really need another Nasser...because their leaders just won't represent them anymore.

I have a lot of sympathy for you over Lebanon. Hezbollah is pretty awful...

What gets me is they basically only put tragic stories on the news. Why not have more happy news-stories? It's not that hard. Yeah it has always been crazy. Take the French Revolution for example. They killed the Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. They made up lies about them. Yup, at least people aren't killing their Kings and Queens anymore..
