There have been many good examples of advice here for you. One I will add is, join a gym and study how to lift weights. It will increase your confidence, your state of mind, your physical and mental health.
I have had my battles with depression, and it helps.

I feel like the more that I learn, and the closer I try to follow Jesus, the sadder I become. Every day, the reality of our living in a fallen world becometh more apparent to me. I struggle to follow certain commandments as I learn them, but usually overcome. Some days, however, such as today, I feel hopeless. I don't always know how to do the right thing, and it can be hard to discern. I see so much evil in the world, but I'm not even sure what, if anything, we can do. Must we live in total silence and obedience? I feel like there's nothing I can do about anything. Am I supposed to feel this way? Am I supposed to hate my life in this world, so that I may have life everlasting in the next?

10 Bible Verses to Renew Your Mind

What are you thinking about and why does it matter? Our thoughts have the power to shape the way we perceive ourselves and influence how we interact with others. Throughout the Bible, we see verse after verse reminding us of the importance of our thoughts and why we need to allow the Holy Spirit to renew our minds.

Romans 12:2
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will." (NIV)

2 Corinthians 10:5
"We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." (NIV)

Psalm 1:2
"Instead, they find happiness in the Teaching of the Lord, and they think about it day and night." (CEV)

Proverbs 4:23
"Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life." (NLT)

Philippians 4:8
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." (ESV)

When negativity or doubt try to take up space in our minds—we must counter those thoughts with God’s Word and speak His truth to every lie. Our Heavenly Father declares that we are seen, we are loved, and we are forgiven. The key to finding true freedom and walking in our purpose is to renew our minds with God’s Word!

1 Peter 2:9
"...for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light." (NLT)

Psalm 139:13
"You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb." (NLT)

Zephaniah 3:17
"For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty Savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” (NLT)

1 John 3:1a
"See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children, and that is what we are!" (NLT)

Ephesians 1:7
"He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sins." (NLT)
If we focus on the evil in this world we will surely be sad. Sometimes I allow it in but I have learned to toss those thoughts out by visualizing throwing them in a bucket and plunging them overboard in to the ocean. Please put your focus on the above scriptures. Write them down on index cards and place them around your home. As Joyce Meyer has stated and has written a book "Battlefield of the Mind" we have to renew our minds everyday with the Word of God.
Ephesians 6:11-12 ESV
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
I hope this helps you. God bless you!
