  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Am I not good enough to be a Christian?

No, God is not us. No, we are not God.

No, the Holy Spirit does not dwell in all of us. I really hope you draw closer to Christ and, as you do, that you will not feel the need to correct His words. He meant what He meant--always.

I also am not good enough to be a Christian. I think your confusing being a idol of christianity with being christian. Many christians only honor "good christians" which is wrong. Remember God was with the ill and sinners. They were for the ministry. The others needed no ministry and were ignored by Christ. They were the ones that crucified him.

For some Christians that is not an issue now days. In my own church denomination, people are free to follow their own conscience on this matter.

The most important part for us as Lutherans is what you believe. How you live exactly is going to be between you and God ultimately. In a sinful world, no one can force you to be a martyr and to take away your freedom. We are not a church of moral purity, we try to deal with life realistically.

Sorry I must have misunderstood your question

Yes everything that you are saying does in fact indicate a strong belief system I may have overlooked. My apologies for not misunderstanding and jesus is the way as he specifically stated in the book of John.
