you know alot people worry about this alot. i remember times as a child i would cry because even though i was "saved" i feared i was goin to hell. my father would always assure me i was going to be fine, then i began to wonder about hell and what it is. most christians and most other religions believe billions of people will burn in hell forever, that is a long time. i began to ask " how could god allow people to be tormented for all eternity?" It seemed so ungodly to send people to hell forever. So if people go to hell for not accepting jesus, then basically when it comes down to it all, jesus is just fire insurance with extras! isnt that how it seems to u damballa? so i began to dig deeper, jesus died for the sins of the world! every one was forgiven the day he shed his blood on that cross, he is the ultimate sacrifice and no other sacrifice needs to be made for when he died he said "it is finished". If people do depart from god and burn forever, then that would mean jesus failed.
Some people say " look at hell as punishment for refusing to love and accept jesus as your savior" well i thought punishment was to teach a lesson. when my parents punished me they did so because i would learn a lesson and not disobey again. now if people are punished and tormented forever, how is a lesson learned? what good does it accomplish to be eternally tormented?
through one man (adam) sin entered the world, so when jesus died he took that sin away.
now this question is for christians also. if you think people are in hell rite now until forever, dont you find that incredibly sad, dont you wish you could bring them up from there torment? but no dont you dare think god is cruel! when we tell others that people are in hell and burning forever, that basically makes god more evil than any man who walked the earth. when think about how sad it is that souls are tormented forever and we have a compassion for them, wouldnt that mean our love is greater than gods? but of course gods love is much greater than ours so how could it be that people burn forever? if people or souls are eternally tormented, and we worship the god who allows this, would be wrong to worship hitler? I am not yet sure what hell is, but i have come to believe that it is not a place of eternal torment, because the only reason for being a christian would be to escape the fire of hell. i believe our god is a god of infinite love and he has a strong love for every man and he will bring every one back to him in the end. but that is only what i have come to believe, seek the truth yourself also.
