Am I a Sociopath? If so, what can I do?

Recently I have been researching symptoms of being a Sociopath and the results have disturbed me to say the least.

They lack the ability to truly empathize with people, only able to do it cognitively. I am always hearing of these terrible news stories of people getting mass-murdered and I don't feel anything one way or another. I know how I should feel, and I may say "That's terrible", but I don't really mean it.

Additionally, Sociopaths are capable of love, compassion, and remorse, however it is very selfish. I also feel I have this as when I do feel compassion and empathy towards people, it's because they are going through circumstances similar to what I have experienced. Additionally, though I do love my family and friends, I feel as though it is due to selfish reasons, like when they get hurt I feel bad because it makes me suffer as well.

Finally, they really only feel remorse because of punishment. This deeply scares me because many people believe that you have to be genuinely sorry for your sins in order to be a Christian, and I feel as though it is literally impossible for me to feel this kind of Godly Sorrow (I have prayed for it for years now).

Now I'm starting to feel hopeless. I mean how could a Sociopath like me ever be a Christian? I have been trying a praying so hard for so long now that I'm starting to believe that I am one of those reprobate God has given up on and that there is no hope for change.

If you believe Jesus died for your sins, and rose 3 days later, was/is the eternal Son of God...you will be saved. I would recommend you seeking help from your doctor. Do not feel like you cannot be a Christian though, if you truly believe, your a Christian. Nobody is perfect, we all have our problems. Do not give up!

Be truthful with yourself. Be open and honest. I have never seen one that is truthful with God, perish. Truthfulness with God and all others seems to set a person straight. That includes being truely fearless. Fearless of mankinds hatred and stereotypes. How does one do this, with love. Love God and love all humans, in any way God blesses you to do so. In all ways.

Where a God fearing man is, the devil flees.

God has not given up on you. :preach:

Then why isn't he answering me? Other people claim to feel God's presence in their lives daily and have an intimate relationship with him. I have never felt this once. I feel like I'm one of those reprobate and God isn't listening to me nor does he want anything to do with me.

At the end of the day, no prayer or good work is going to save me, I need a relationship with Jesus, but how can I have one when he ignores me?

Your thoughts are still worldly, I know because I too have the same symptoms. The important part at this point is that you realize that fact. Pray, pray, pray. You have yet to be reborn, but you may be on your way to that. I hope that you will receive the Spirit, for it will change you.

He isn't answering because you are unable to hear. Wait and pray. Knock and the door will be opened.

So that's it? Just wait and hope it happens? What if I die before then? What if Jesus returns in a second? I want to be saved now so I don't have to keep worrying.

2 Corinthians 6:2 For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.

Recall what Christ said about worry. Remember that before you were made, God knew whether or not you were going to heaven or hell, and had decided to create you anyway. Your fate is not in your control. Pray the Lord's Prayer, and listen to the words that you say.

Do you think prayer is for nothing?

All people exhibit to a degree anti social behavior.

As a people we are trained to be desensitized, by our media and entertainment.

Turn off the TV for a while, study the Bible and try to get in touch with
Your humanity through Gods love

If my fate's already decided why should I do anything? Nothing I do really matters anyway. Frankly if God created me like this just to send me to hell then I believe that really takes a strike at the core character of God, and I might as well do whatever I please since I'm going to hell anyways.

So, what's stopping you?

And that is not meant to be a shot. Seriously, can you explain why you don't just do whatever you please? There must be a reason, and you might want to try to discover it for yourself.

Hope is what's stopping me. If I can be saved then I don't want even more on my record. But if I was literally created to go to hell then why not fully embrace it? I mean it's not like someone can say to me that my character is at stake, sense I never really had any to begin with. All I would be doing was fulfilling what I was created to do, am I not wrong?
