The definition of the word "Christian" is "little Christ". What you described yourself like doesn't sound much like Jesus to me.

But being born again/saved and being a Christian are two different things. Being a Christian is what I stated above, and being born again means that you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and you say with your mouth 'Jesus is Lord'.

You are gonna have to show some scripture for this. Sounds like there are a bunch of "Christians" out there that aren't "saved." I don't follow...

A christian is someone who has received the Holy Spirit because “christ” or “messiah” means “anointed one” and the anointing is the Holy Spirit (Acts 10v38). Romans 8v9 states:-
“ . . . you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”

i.e. not yet *saved* (see also Titus 3v5-6)

In the new testament it is known precisely when people receive the Holy Spirit ! Yet today, people call themselves or other people “christians”, but how can they make this judgement ?
God says:- “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it ?” (Jeremiah 17v9)
... therefore he *must* bare independent witness, the apostles certainly waited for this:-
“God, which knows the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us” (Acts 15v8 referring to the speaking in tongues with Gentile and Jew in Acts 10 & 2).

I'm very clueless right now, I'm told I'm not a true christian for my beliefs.
here they are

1. I don't believe the bible is 100%?

it is, but some christians would agree with you

Marmaladegirl22 said:
2. I don't believe in the rapture. ?

Jesus says this will happen, therefore i beleive it will happen, and i'm certain of it that it will come to pass, the visions of st. John acknowledge this.

Marmaladegirl22 said:
3. I believe in Jesus and GOD?

You believe that this exist? I understand that believeing and obeying are different, many people that suffered a wrath of god also belieived that they existed, for example the egyptian soldiers that were killed in the red sea may have beleived in the existance of the Hebrew god as they were killed by him. I know that there are no egyptian soldier angels flying around, so maybe you can do the math here.

unclean spirits, yea, christians have seen these as well

not christian, hindu, false teachings of false gods

well... this remains to be seen, i will obey all of the words of father

Marmaladegirl22 said:

Some christians will agree with you, most i guess??? What is and what is not a sin is clearly written within the torah.

Marmaladegirl22 said:
9. I believe animals have souls. ?

There were animals within the garden of Eden. The garden is a place where sin is unacceptable, sin is defined in Torah.

Marmaladegirl22 said:

sin, some christians will accept this behaviour

The vatican says it teaches children that magic is cool, Magic is a sin and is written clearly as such within the torah. Funny, the vatican thinks dressing up and trick or treating is ok??? go figure. but of course, the vatican does not follow the law

I know you may not believe the Bible is 100% true but I am going to reference it to show you how some of your beliefs are wrong:

1. I don't believe the bible is 100%
2 Timothy 3:16-1716 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

2. I don't believe in the rapture.
Matthew 24 and the whole book of Revelation sight the signs of Christ's return. Many Christians have already noticed these signs.

3. I believe in Jesus and GOD
This is the only way you can be saved from hell:
John 20:3131But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
Roman 10:9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Jesus is God, they aren't two seperate people.

4. I believe in ghost
People either go to Hell, or go to the kingdom of God. There are such things as demons, however.

5. I believe in recarntion
This is simply not true because of the above stated fact.

6. I don't believe in condeming people
Christians shouldn't condemn people; it's simply not their job. However, it is their job to tell others about Christ and show others that they are sinning. But if you're talking about God condemning people, then he doesn't. They condemn themselves.
John 8:7 speaks of condemnation:
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

7. I don't believe anyone goes to hell but the truly wicked.
How do you define "wicked?" God defines wicked in Roman 1:29-31 29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

8. I believe the only sin is hurting others or yourself
Sinning in any fashion hurts other people. Everyone sins, on a daily basis. Your pastor is no more holy than you are, he sins also. Refer to the above-mentioned passage of scripture to identify some forms of sin.

9. I believe animals have souls.
Jesus didn't come to earth to save animals. In fact in the Old Testament, the Jews sacrificed goats as "sin offerings" to put their sin on the goats and kill them.
Leviticus 23:19 Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.

10. I'm starting to prefer girls over boys.
Homosexuality is a sin. I understand this sin because I used to believe that I liked girls too, before I was saved. God destroyed a town full of homosexual men.
Genesis 18:20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.

11.I'm a harry Potter fan.
There is some debate about Harry Potter among the Christian world, but I can tell you that since I have been saved God has kept me from reading the new Harry Potter books, I just haven't had any desire to, and let me tell you, I love them before I was saved.
God does not like any witchcraft, and even though the witchcraft in Harry Potter isn't real, it is still witchcraft.
Deuteronomy 18:10
There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.
Many times in the Old Testament the Jews turned to other gods, besides the Lord and practiced witchcraft and were rightly punished for their sins.

I hope that this helps. No one is to tell you that you aren't a Christian, however, Christians can usually tell if people are Christians by the fruit of the spirit they are producing (Galatians 5:19-24:19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.).

If after reading this you have realized that you aren't a Christian then pray this prayer: So now all you do is help others to be rescued, and you don’t even have to do that, but, once you are a Christian, you don’t have to do anything to keep it, but it is a good idea to help others become Christians and its great to do good things too, but all the stuff you can do cannot save you from hell. Remember the only thing that can save you from hell is faith in Jesus. No amount of self-punishment, meditation, baptism, worship, sacrifice, or chanting will save you. Well there’s my spiel, take it or leave it, but if you want to accept Jesus and officially become a Christian (and don’t know how to pray, or don’t know what to say) pray this prayer: Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness. I believe that your only Son, Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin. Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved. Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus, transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself. Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life. Amen.

God Bless,
Love,
Brittany

The Word became Flesh.
Believe me, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.
God is not a person. He isnt human so to speak. We need to keep that in mind that He is more awesome than we can truley imagine.
God does not work in time. He was the Son on earth (time) and up on His throne at the same moment.

Hi, Marmaladegirl!

I think I agree with all the points you've listed. And I think you are a Christian because you believe in Jesus... Christianity has no definition, but if someone had to make one, then the closest one to reality would be that a Christian is a follower of Christ.

I don't know you much, but I've talked to you a little before and I've read some of your posts... You seem to be a great person with a heart filled with love... and here's what the Bible says about people like you:

1 John 4:7

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

All in all, I think you're a great Christian and you shouldn't let anyone discourage you. I don't know if any of your beliefs are wrong... no one except God knows that. But I think God cares about a person's heart, not the doctrine he or she adheres to.

Have a great day and God bless! :)

Anyways, I choosed not to go back into religion because of the treatment I had from religious people. Only the cruelness I suffer by other christians has turned me from the beliefs.

That's like tossing the baby out with the bath water. I'm not a Christian because of what others say and do, i'm a Christian because of what Christ did for me.

One thing that helped me understand what He did, and why it was great, was an audio I heard.

I know you already stated at some point you don't think your a Christian but I am gonna say what I was going to anyway.

1. I don't believe the bible is 100%
I have come to find many Christians don't believe that either. My issue with that has always been if the Bible is not true why believe in Christ?

2. I don't believe in the rapture.
Again many Christian don't believe that either. Personally one should focus on their life now and the rapture or lack there of will take care of itself.

3. I believe in Jesus and GOD
Believing in God and Jesus is one thing, accepting Him as your personal savior is another.

4. I believe in ghost
I don't believe in ghosts but in demons who are tring to trick people into believing in ghost because if there are ghosts then God is liar.

5. I believe in recarntion
This is not Biblical or a Christian concept.

6. I don't believe in condeming people
Neither did Christ.

7. I don't believe anyone goes to hell but the truly wicked
Christ tells us He is the only way to the Father.

8. I believe the only sin is hurting others or yourself
Also not Biblical.

9. I believe animals have souls.
I believe animals should be treated well but them having souls is not Biblical.

10. I'm starting to prefer girls over boys(and people think I'm doom to hell for that.)
Without getting into a big debate there are some who would say not big deal but Christ did have a problem with it.

11.I'm a harry Potter fan(most christians think it's anti GOD)
Harry Potter has nothing to do with salvation. Many Christians read the books and appreciate it as literature. If you are going to start practicing the stuff in the books then you may have a problem because witchcraft is no acceptable to Christ.

No one can tell you whether or not your Christian but I will say being Christian is accepting Christ died for your sins and repenting. It is also following the Word of God given to us by Christ. You can look up the passages know as the Romans Road in the King James Version.

Romans 3:23
Romans 6:23
Romans 5:8
Romans 10:9,10

 My dear, the only way you are not a Christian is if you've never asked Jesus into your heart. If you have done that, because you realized you cannot save yourself, then you're a Christian. God CANNOT lie --- and He clearly says:

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

I have accepted Jesus in my heart, I truly believe and love him. My only problem now is other christians, once I work around them then I'm fit. YAY!

My only problem now is other christians, once I work around them then I'm fit.
There is only one person who you have to please in order to get into heaven. You do not need the approval of others. Why do you feel that you ahve to work around others?

I'm just very upset that everything has to be bibical to be true.
There is much that is true that is not biblical. There is much that was never recorded as well.
‘And there are also many other things which Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written’ (Jn. 21:25)

I think some other things not in the bible are true.
So long as they do not contradict what is in the bible and that which is essential for salvation I do not care.

I do believe animals have souls,
Not essential to salvation - don't care.
and we should love the earth.
Cool! Keep it in perspective as well. If you need to cut down a tree to save a human life then do it.
The only evil thing in the earth is humans.
You have a misunderstanding of evil. Evil is not a thing. Evil is the LACK of a thing - good. Much like cold is the lack of heat. When something is seperated from a source of heat it grows cold. When mankind seperated himself from God - the source of good - he fell. It is the lack of good that is evil.

Peace - be still.

I would recommend the Liberal forum. They don't consider the Bible to be important either. You should do well there.
