  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I just read what you have posted so far, and it's wonderful! I love the images your words make, and even though there isn't much up yet, I've been drawn into the story. Any chance of more being posted before next week? ;)

Very good beginning Tariel...One is already drawn into the suspense of wondering about Alvuan, will she survive and be reunited with the young man so desperately seeking her. Who is the woman that tells him to go on? Is she related to him or just a stranger that has his interest at heart? What will happen as the bridge to Alurax burns? What will happen to Alurax? Your wording draws the interest of the reader and captivates him. Waiting to hear more.

O.K. Firstly this was an intriguing beginning. Lots of lovely ends waiting to be tied up.

Personally I found the 1st 2 paragraphs a little difficult. P1 I felt more tension would be created if the sentences were shorter & 'choppier'. I didn't get a real feel for the desperation of a fleeing people. P2 The first sentence seems a little clumsy then you repeated 'burdened' twice within a short space.

P3 This is where I feel your story really takes off. Great sense of desperation, panic. From this point on I was caught up in the story.

I feel there is enough sense of place so that Alurax will explain itself as your story evolves. I do not need more than you have given here for the time being as no~one grasps a new environment completely first off. A sense of character is there too, difficult to achieve with such a short piece; well done!

I look forward to reading more.
