I am still trying to understand this effect

But you already know…
Let me put it plainly.

People have ideas about "time travel" or "time loops or whatever you want to call it. People find the idea fascinating. People write stories about these ideas.

These stories are not real. Not only are they made up, they are also outside the scope of "investigation". Things in these stories do not happen because of "reality"... they happen because the authors want them to happen. They can be as "strange" as they want, because they cannot and don't have to be investigated.

If a young girl gets eaten whole by a wolf who was disguised as her grandmother, and then returned whole and unharmed again from the wolf's stomach after the beast was killed... you can "try to understand this effect" as much as you like... there is no effect.

I’m honestly saying you are too confident

You know this is not real

Before investigation
You are dishonestly saying I am too confident... because you didn't do any investigation.

You just said there is no effect … contrary to all evidence
I am always willing to see and test evidence.

But you really should be aware then, when the point of contention for your "evidence" is "well... people make up stories"... presenting a known made-up story is not very compelling.

Define evidence
"the available body of facts or information indicating whether a belief or proposition is true or valid"

That does not quite include "a story that somebody posted on the internet and swore that it totally happened"... and it definitly does not include "a story that authors for a sci-fi TV-series came up with as interesting entertainment".

Then there is evidence
Let's play a little game, shall we? Do you promise to engage, and not evade, ignore or deflect?

I remembered it when you posted the link about the mysteriously re-appearing book.

...
There was a long series of books that I owned. I like to re-read books once and again, and I started this series over. At one point, I noticed that I was missing one book.
I knew that I owned it. I knew that I had read it before. I was still aware of the general flow of the story. But I couldn't find it. It wasn't with the rest of the series.
So I went through all my books... and I have a lot of books. I went through all the bookshelfs in all the rooms of my house. I went through all the places where books might be stored. It was nowhere to be found.
I hadn't been giving it away or lent it to anyone or even thrown it away. It just wasn't there.

So I bought it again. Online, as an e-book version. I have no e-reader, so I had to read it on my desktop computer. A bit awkward... but for a good story, you'll take a bit of discomfort. It was a good story.

When I had just finished the last chapter, I looked down, right next to my desk. There was my printed exemplar to that story.

True or false? What "evidence" is there to make you think one or the other?

If you give away a book … then you can’t find it was always there

I guess that's a "No" then. You just cannot NOT evade, can you?`

Why the heck do you expect people to engage with you in any form, if you cannot hold a sincere conversation?

Another try: my story above. Is it true or false?
