If you can not go out or before you fellow man, then go in your Heart before the alter of God.

your relative position to a table that is place in front of the speakers podium has little to do with giving yourself to God, Neither does affirming your preachers sermon to the elders or your peers in the church.

Any true Shepard worth his salt would gladly give up the immediate affirmation that comes from witnessing a change or a stirring in someone that was a result from a message that he had just given, for a true change that he may not even be privy to or wittiness in a persons heart.

That said, if you want to go just to go, then sit next to the person who get "slain in the spirit" every week and go when he does.

Lutherans don't have altar calls.

LCMS.org said:
"The mission of the church presupposes that conversion is solely the work of the Holy Spirit" and its rejection of the view "that converts may be considered Christians only after they have publicly declared that they have made a decision for Christ."

Our altar is reserved for the sacraments. Our rail is reserved for sinners. When we come to the altar it's to partake in communion.

That is a spiritual battle between your flesh body and spirit.

A person doesn't need to be in church to be saved and receive God's free gift of eternal life. If you want to become a child of God and receive eternal life....

Romans 10:9-13 says:

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
