  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anyone know of a good alternative to logmein? I'd actually like something that I can host myself. I've tried looking at openrsm but I can't get the server part to work for some reason.

Thanks!
I don't know what you're trying to do. If it's a help-desk-type thing, try join.me. If you're trying to have an online meeting, there's Webex (meetings.webex.com).

I'm looking for a help-desk type thing. I like how logmein allows you to display all of the computers that are registered. It's easy to register a new computer. I can see if they are on or off. I can call the client and ask them to turn their LMI on so I can work on their computer...which means I can turn it off when I'm done, I don't necessarily need someone there. LMI constantly cuts back on what can be done for free, hence I'm looking for either a new service, or to host my own. I've been trying to look into Open RSM, but I haven't had much luck with that.
