I didn't read all the posts here, so forgive me if this is a duplication. First, I think your idea is admirable, and the response you've gotten confirms it.

You stated in the beginning that you didn't have a lot of blessings to bestow as prizes; many legitimate writing contests require a "reading fee" -- sometimes as little as $5, and I've seen as high as $20. Just for reference "next time," consider requiring a token "fee" of X amount of blessings. That may give you a small base for your prize money, & a periodic update on the "bank account" may encourage Newbies and young writers to meet your deadlines.

One more thing, about "theme" -- with apologies if this is a repeat of another post. I've seen several requests for manuscripts with "themes". Among them, "Christmas with a Twist," "The Migrant Worker Experience", and "Music Throughout Your Life".

Elohir I think that there needs to be a deadline for the end of the contest. And that on that day the judges should post in another thread the results. If not then the writers are going to keep putting up chapters and everything. I also think that we should make a limit on how many ch. can be written, that way if there are some who don't have enough time to type up so many ch.'s they wont feel that we are judging on that. Do you get me? If you'd like you could PM me, I have already PMed you bit got no reply, so I figured I'd just put it up here. Please let me Know Elohir. Thank you!
