All Shall Fade

When Isi placed her hands around her waist she left the black orc blood smeared on her disreputable dress. The Orc blood was fresh though and stood out.
"No Rohirrim, I... I 'see' sometimes in my mind... Mother used to call them visions...I have not had sight since I was four..." she replied to Burn softly but then Thom came up and she noted Burn's attention was elsewhere. There was still Orc blood on her fingers as she held them out in the air to feel if anyone were still near her.

"I wish to come with you... please? Don't leave me behind... " she whispered fearfully when Burn announced it again.

 

[Ellesar]

"I don't see why you can't come with us, Isi." Rica said softly at Isi's side. She frowned slightly when she saw the orc blood on Isi's fingers and said as she pulled her waterskin free, "You have some orc blood on your hands... Here's some water to wash it off."

 

[cyberwing]

Isi held her hands out and waited for Rica to pour the water. "Don't waste much of the precious water, we might need it for drinking..." Isi whispered to Rica.

 

[Ellesar]

Rica nodded, even though she knew that Isi wouldn't be able to see it. Pulling off the cap, she poured some water into the cap and then poured it over Isi's hands, washing off the blood.

 

[Quantum X]

"You may come with us." Howard said. After all, apparently her home was destroyed.

The blood cleared from her hands Isi visibly relaxed and sighed. The image of the Orc commander faded from her mind's eye.

 

[Ellesar]

Rica noticed Isi visibly relax and asked softly, "You alright?"

 

[cyberwing]

"Yes... the awful Commander of these Orcs is gone..." Isi whispered back.

 

[Ellesar]

Rica nodded silently as she thoughtfully recapped her waterskin. "How were you able to see him?" she finally asked after a few moments.

 

[cyberwing]

"I...I don't know. It's almost though like I tap into another person's mind... I see through their eyes. It has happened a few times before but I had some contact with them..." Isi whispered.

 

[Ellesar]

"I wonder... Does it work with those near you, if you touch them?" Rica asked curiously.

 

[cyberwing]

"I...I don't know that either. My Mother is about the only person that has touched me most of my life, well since I can remember. People don't like someone who... well who is different." Isi sighed.
"I don't remember much when I could still see. I've seen many images from Mother's mind though. Now that you speak of it... it did happen with a friend when I touched their face." Isi got a look of awe on her face, '...could it be that simple?'

 

[Locket]

His protests/demands were quickly cut off, though, by Thom's approach. He announced that indeed they were coming, and Burn nodded to him with approval, his slight smile hidden behind his helm. "Good. Very good, Thom, son of... Thurgand, am I right? Of course we will have you. All who wish to leave this place will be gladly taken along, so long as they are ready to go by late afternoon; at the LATEST, everyone!"

Thom watched the blind woman out of the corner of his eye, but smiled sadly at Burn's deadline. "Why not now? There is nothing left for us here." He patted Ruber's head as the dog whined and rubbed against his leg. "Except Ruber and my father's sword, we have nothing of value or substance."

 

[Ellesar]

"I know how that can be..." Rica said softly, remembering the times when she had been chased out of villages because she had looked and sounded like one of the Wild Men. She lapsed into silence for a few moments and then asked, "Maybe you have a special type of 'seeing.' One that can be initiated by touch."

 

[cyberwing]

"Mother always said I needed training but she didn't know how, that my father did. He disappeared though. We must go with the Rohirrim who have aided us." Isi listened a moment. There it was, she heard the soft creak of Burn and Howard's armor and protective gear. She grinned and pointed toward them. "I may not be able to see but I have ears like an elf!"

 

[Paladin Dave]

"But those of us who have already become acquainted are not the only ones here." Burn replied, sighing quietly. "They may yet still have possessions, even if the community is ruined. I'll do my best to urge them on, and we'll leave sooner if all are ready."
