  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

WELCOME! I am sorry to hear of your lonliness. But, know that you are never alone. This is a great opportunity for you to grow in the Lord. I live in Dayton, Ohio, where did you live? "Keep your chin up, it is easier to see Heaven that way." As far as you and hubby, keep praying and communicating open and honestly!

Oh my goodness!!

I know EXACTLY how you feel!!! My husband and I are now in PA from Ohio, and I want to go home so bad I can just taste it!

Sister, we gotta talk! NJ and PA are pretty close, and being displaced Buckeyes in this area of the world is actually like being in a different world! My husband and I both feel like we aer in the middle of Egypt or on an island or something. Even church, though fulfilling, hasn't gained us any close friendships. So we have JUST each other and our son and hefty phone bills back to Ohio.

I am just south of Philadelphia now, from Dayton (HI believer12--GO BOMBERS!) Ohio. I would be happy to be at least one friend who understands.

When I married nearly 35 years ago, I moved from my small island home to a mining village in the UK. We were too poor to even afford a car, my husband had to get two buses to the nearest town, where he was a science teacher. The folk in the village spoke in a broad Derbyshire dialect and until our ear was atuned we found them hard to understand. They were suspicious of strangers and unless you had lived there since Adam was a lad, you were not accepted! My husband left for work at about 7am and often was not home before 6pm. I was very lonely, and pregnant within a month of our marriage. We did have a telephone and my mum would phone me frequently to check on us. I was only 19, and living in a strange place with strange people made me quite depressed. Fortunately we moved two years later to a boarding school where the families were part of the school community and I was never lonely there.

I would have found the Internet a WONDERFUL help in those days.

I know I am old enough to be your mother Butterfly, but if you are ever in need of an older person to talk to, I am here for you. I have three daughters, 34, 30 and 28.

hi, I know how you feel too, I moved to the US from Canada and married, then because of immigration laws until I get my legal residency I have not been allowed to cross the border. My family lives only 5 hours away and I have not been able to see them for over a year, I am missing them tremendously, this forum was a life savor for me.
welcome
