It was beautiful. Of course. But it wasn't real. I walked towards it, waiting to see what it would do. Suddenly, as I got close, it flared into brilliance, blinding me. I put my hand before my eyes, so that it wouldn't completely blind me. I waited until the brilliance faded. Before me stood a young man, about twenty looking, but with a silver goatee and and a silver hair crew cut. He smiled welcomingly.
"You've finally found me. Welcome, Kaine. I'm glad you made it, I was waiting for you. I knew they'd send you, and I needed to talk to you."
"What you're doing is threatening the lives of millions of people in the real world, how could you??" I was furious.
"I never planned on letting it go that far. We need to talk. Here, all of you," he waved all of us closer to him. "Hold my hands, and each other's. I'll take you to a safe place, a haven, where we can talk in peace."
This was his world. This was going by his rules. I nodded towards the others.
"This is the only chance we have to end all of this and go back. What do you say?"
