  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I would say He covered them because they were ashamed/afraid and to protect them from the new/painful world that they would be sbuject to.

Gensis 3:10-11
10 He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid."
11 And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?"

Hey all,

I'd like to ask you a question in relation to drinking alcohol, or a few actually.
  • Do you drink alcohol?
  • What would be your limit in drinking alcohol?
  • Do you believe according to the scriptures that it is ok to drink and is there a difference in this between men and women?
  • Would you miss drinking alcohol if you stopped today (if applicable).
I promise I come back to answer these myself but would love to read yours also. Thanks. ;)

Yes, I drink alcohol. My limit really depends on how I feel. Sometimes I don't want to feel anything, so I let it take over me...other days, I just want to kick back, so I only have one. The scriptures say that drunkenness is frowned upon. To me, drunkenness includes being drunk in public places..not necessarily in the privacy of one's own home. I don't know if there necessarily is a difference in the rule between men and women...I've seen both genders hold their own..
I tried giving up alcohol for 40 days, it lasted about a week...so yes, I think I would miss it if I stopped today. On the same note, alcoholism runs in my family, so I have to be careful.

To me, drunkenness includes being drunk in public places..not necessarily in the privacy of one's own home.

You are free to feel that way. But there is no distinguishing between being drunk in public and being drunk in the "privacy of your own home". The Lord is in both places just as you are in both places. The battle here doesn't stop when you walk in the door of your house. Being drunk on wine at any time is simply unwise, especially if you know that your family has a history of alcohol problems. Have you read Ephesians 5:15-20 ?

I can understand wanting to escape, but letting it take you over is simply wrong. What you're doing is allowing a substance to give you peace in place of the Lord. I believe this is called idolotry but I could be wrong in my terminology. At the very least, surely you see the problem here.

Oh I know. I mainly just said that because I feel like some people may think that being drunk in your home is "better" than being drunk in a public place. I prefer neither.

Idolatry is idolizing someone other than the Lord...I do get what you're saying. I am working on controlling myself...I have to be careful because alcoholism runs in my family.

I have not read Ephesians 5:15-20. I will have to do that.

I know this is off topic, but I disagree with your nudity comment. I would feel utter disgrace to be in front of another nude, and I don't think this comes from myself. I have felt this way since a child and I am not so sure that the disgrace I feel is not from GOD.

No where in the bible does it even speak of going around without clothing, so this too I would consider a teaching of man. ie " Nothing is wrong with nudity". It could just be because I am a female, I do not know. But I feel strongly that it is wrong.

sorry, i re-worded my statement incorrectly, i was trying to say something along the lines of that but since this isn't the topic, i'm not going to discuss it here.

and jonathan i do find it weird, as we were all young we didn't mind seeing each other naked but as soon as we hit those ages where we are wise to see good and evil that's when its like "oh cover up" lol
