On the one hand it is not a sin to drink in moderation, but we must also be very sensitive to our witness and what people will say about it. This calls for maturity and prayer and patience. [/B]
Eph says...
YOU are so right "slightly"..except we both need to sit down and decide WHAT moderation is..? at what point do we cross from OK moderation to NOT OK moderation...??
...Noah for example drank till passed out cold on the ground....!
Now I think personally thats a bit much ...BUT I can understand why he did...I mean ...YOU go live on a ark for over 300 odd days with a bunch of animals insects and birds...after the planets biggest rain storm EVER...and you might throw a few too many back also... just being happy your still around and lived through it all....!
...Not only that but we know GOD sure didn't mind Noah packin that load on..and passin out ....'Cause the FIRST thing Noah did when he staggered to his feet was Prophesy FOR God...He was STILL Gods spokesman...!
Hey God still used him..not only that God waited for Noah to come around so he could use em..!
So we really have our "work" cut out for us on this one..!
....I hope my little story opens some eyes here on this.. !
..OUR salvation isn't based on OUR ability to live perfect lives for Jesus....It's based on OUR faith that JESUS lived a perfect life and PAYED for all our shortfallings..( sins )...!
OUR ability to be a "gooder christian" than someone else..has NO bearing on our salvation...!
Personal FAITH in Jesus Christ does..whether you don't drink or do..whether you don't smoke or do...whether you wear bright clothes or dark..whether your tall or short..fat or skinny......Doesn't matter....!
We're gonna be JUDGED on whether we FAITHED Jesus Christ in this life...or didn't faith Jesus Christ..!
THATS the only standard...!
