What exactly do you want scientists to do? They couldn't possibly control how people use their information once they make it public.

Nothing. I just describe a poor scientist.

Engineers don't make products either; they design them and manufacturers make them. Quite often, they design them using information gained from scientists. So scientists have, in fact, had an immense (if indirect) effect on everyday life. It's only in selected areas of science, mostly ones where public opinion has been shaped by ideology, that scientific information is routinely ignored.

In any case, why the sudden concern for "poor scientists"?

Because you said scientists do not agree with the OP. I agree with what the OP said. Global warming IS an excuse (true or not) used to let us use less, and more expensive energy. I don't like it.

I pity scientists. They know the truth, but their masters won't allow that to interfere with their moneymaking agendas.

Scientists: "We should use what we already know to solve climate change."

Masters: "Shut up and get back in the lab and figure out something more expensive, complicated, confusing, and profitable (for us)."

That's what I suspected. I thought it was possible that here was one field of science you didn't reject, but I guess that was too much to hope for.

I am not convinced by the argument that the global warming (true according to data in the past, say, 100 years) is caused by human activity. I am not convinced the increase of CO2 in the air is caused by the burning of fuel. I do not see a correlation which shows that.

But I do know the temperature of the earth went up and down many many times only in the past 50,000 years. It was definitely not caused by our power plants and cars.

I still think GW is not relevent today except to help stop air polution in large city's from cars and factories.

I don't necessarily agree that air pollution is *all* that we have to worry about, but it certainly results in more deaths every year than global warming.

Air pollution 'kills 7 million people a year' | Environment | theguardian.com

And there's a dirty little secret related to EU pollution rates too:

Can't agree more. Smog is terrible. I experienced it at the first hand.

We can certainly deal with this if we want to. Simply move all smoking plants to mountain area. That will solve the problem.

I rejected what I have read and heard. I do not study this thing and that is all I have to make decision.

In order to see that cars and power plants caused the global warming, I need to see an explanation to the past global warming when humans were not around. Otherwise, how to I evaluate?

Certainly, any political can easily do that. I guess even YOU can do that too.

The past global warming events happened when the same gases cars and other machines give off increased in the atmosphere, so...

Btw, these gas levels do fluctuate in a cyclical way, but thanks to humans the levels of these greenhouse gases have become just insanely high. Thankfully, even with our help, global warming still takes years. Which gives us a chance to figure out a way to reverse or slow it down, that is, if people stop sticking their heads in the sand.

I am not sure we can slow it down, even no one is burning anything on the earth.

We already have the answers. We just refuse to implement them. Man's thinking is like a runaway train, not easily changed. For example China is still building coal-fired power plants (and we are selling them the coal). What's even more onerous is that they are easing restrictions on family size. Katy, bar the door!

Actually air pollution is much less now than 1970s and prior, with probably the exception of China.

sounds fantastic, maybe you should direct your powers of wishful thinking towards other issues too, like curing diseases or fighting crime
