Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

I think it had to do with conforming to society's norm and culture, and to blend in. I think people feared to be unique, because they will be looked down upon.
Not sure how this is being answered, but that's how I look at it!
Another take is that when you're in a strange country, ya better not look stupid!

I can't remember some of them! but there is one that I'm sure I won't live it down....
I was trying to fortify a stencil sheet with linseed oil, and I was attempting to boil it. Luckily, my dad happened to be there when he asked me what I was doing...I barely finished the sentence, when he grabbed the pot and ran out to to the garage. Never seen the guy run so fast in my life.
Shortly after, he told me that linseed oil doesn't need to be boiled~ it's already done, and had I tried to, I'd end up blowing up the house!
