I use regular chatgpt and google Gemini. Very useful for coding work and assisting with engineering concepts.

It's able to do coding work entirely on its own. When it comes to engineering, it still tells me to use other (non-AI) 3rd party apps whenever applicable but it's useful for reality check. My concepts are concerned with energy and helps keep things in check if certain law of physics are being violated. I have quite extensive experience in these subjects long before there's AI so I would know if AI is making errors.

It still make errors in engineering concepts but mainly because it's not accounting for every possible factor that can affect the outcome. Not to criticize AI because even engineers, scientists, make the same oversight (that's why there are still many natural phenomena that are yet to be accurately understood).

So it functions as your rubber duck? I can 100% get behind that.

Not exactly. It generates the code. If there's an error, I simply copy paste the error to the chat and it modifies the code and repeat if the error persists. It's a lot easier than before AI.

Ironically, I'm doing it with programming languages I never learned. I only have the equivalent of "classroom experience" with programming with only few languages, although extensive, it was enough to work with AI. I retained the concepts and logic but I have poor memory retention and AI helps with it.

What is classroom experience in a computer language? Is it like foreign languages?

Something like "I had 3 years of Cobol, 2 years of Fortran, and 4 years of C++ and I still can't read C++"?

I never had classroom experience learning another spoken language so I have no idea how it compares.

I can read code. But I always had problems writing code due to poor memory from childhood brain injury. I relied on "cheat sheets" and auto-prompts quite extensively. It worked to an extent but this also means I failed the vast majority of job interviews and exams when the interview became technical due to poor memory.

AI helps a lot to fill my memory gaps and so far proving to be the best tool by far to fill my weaknesses.
