I have a question , forgive me if it is in the wrong thread.

It the universe was indeed created in 7 days, how is it that light from stars that are millions of light years away and still moving away from us, has managed to reach us? This doesn’t seem to bode well for arguing that the world is circa 10,000 years old! (God created the heaven and the earth and the stars)
I would be interested in some scientific answers.

The science as we know it, is not good enough to answer this question.
The science as we know it is not good either even it were 13 billion years. Give longer time does not solve the problem.

Didn't you know? When it comes to things that contradict a personal world view, science all of a sudden becomes inferior and worthless. Brilliant in all other areas, scientists are just too dense and stubborn when it comes to things like cosmology, geology, biology and physics. They just don't get it.

That's because scientific paradigms and explanations today don't include God:
  • Cosmology is one thing --- theocosmology is another.
  • Geology is one thing --- theogeology is another.
  • Biology is one thing --- theobiology is another.
  • Physics is one thing --- theophysics is another.

Yes it is. Just one example, we can measure the distance to type Ia supernovae using their relative luminosity. These supernovae can be billions of light years away, with zero evidence of any change in the speed of light or any other physical constant.

Creation science may not be good enough, but the science that real scientists use is good enough.

Because it gives you license to make up anything you want.

For example, I could say that there are flying toasters that gave rise to the rings of saturn because God wanted it to be that way and it's written in a book which you don't have access to that God wrote anyways.

You can't falsify my claim no matter how hard you try because it involves the supernatural which is not testable.

I believe you!

Now, how to get our falsehoods taught in schools around the world...

...Political maneuvering!

Nope --- I made those words up because they make my point very well. If the word "dinosaur" can be coined to facilitate the English language, then other words can be coined as well - (as long as they adhere to standard rules of semantics, that is).

So you're using made up words for explanations that should include God.
Why is that, are not there proper words that can be used ?

Go right ahead and say it; and I would challenge you to produce this book --- and it had better be a book that was written beyond conventional methods of publication and preservation.

Nope --- I don't trust the public education system to teach these "falsehoods" anymore. If it's anything like I see on this forum, not too many people qualify.

The theo- prefix works just fine, in my opinion.

Well, actually, science, as we know it, completely excludes any possibility of the universe being 6,000 years old (barring the existence of a deceiver deity, of course). Now, what "problem" do you think there is here that science is not explaining?

As I have said before, Chalnoth, the only ones who claim they are being "deceived" are the ones who don't take the Documentation literally.
