How do you handle multiple people with the same GPA and test scores if there aren't enough slots for them?Admission should be based on GPA and test scores. All other criteria are subjective and subject to abuse.
Admission should be about fairness, not good citizenship.I don't agree. GPA scores aren't the only things that make for good students or good citizens.
If GPA and test scores are the same, then use the next least subjective criteria. How do you handle multiple people with the same GPA and test scores if there aren't enough slots for them?
Citations please?Do you mean actual discrimination of non-minorities or change the perception of "White Privilege?" Because you can rest assured, white males are hired at a higher rate than any other race when qualifications are equal. They are also paid more, and are promoted faster than minorities with the same level of experience and education so where are you finding the information that white males are being discriminated against? I'm sure it has happened, however not to any real measurable amount.
Being a minority, or homosexual might help or both?I don't agree. GPA scores aren't the only things that make for good students or good citizens.
Subjective criteria is in the eye of the beholder, in this case Affirmative Action based upon race and gender. You seem to have this idea that subjective criteria are per se bad. That is not the case.
And while there is a market for paid admission consultants there is a far larger and older one for test preparation.
Who are these other minorities ?
I believe indigenous people in America are doing ok, in California there is a Casino on every reservation, living in mansions and driving luxury auto mobiles.True statement. I think what people take issue with is that due to the history of this country and who has controlled the government, all industries, and real estate since forcing out and killing the native population is only one particular group of people. This can negatively impact the other groups of people if certain members of that first group who are in control use it to continue to advance only their own groups's lives. The other groups are then left with the scraps. AA is an attempt to allow the "other groups" entry into the "First Group's" industries so that they may also be allowed to prosper and not be remanded to only the scraps that fall off of the first group's table
Hispanics get two votes now, that's discriminationSeriously? You do not know. You are defending AA without apparent knowledge AA is and has been used to benefit minorities other than blacks? How does that work?
The other minorities are:
1. Asians
2. Hispanics
3. Jews (varies at times)
4. Latinos
5. Hispanics

From my understanding, Asians do very well in college placement. Jews, likely, also have no real complaints.
OTOH, Hispanics or and/Latinos have been discriminated against much more traditionally.
Your missing the point bro!
AA has been, for decades now, benefiting minorities other than blacks. This includes Asians, Jews, Hispanics, Latinos. These are minorities not tainted with the 200 years of discrimination in this country in comparison to blacks, but this historic 200 year handicap for blacks was invoked by you as justification for AA.
Well, if AA has, for decades, been successfully used for the benefit of non-black minorities, who haven’t suffered 200 years of discrimination like blacks, then your reliance upon this 200 years of discrimination against blacks in support of AA is a very limited justification given the broader scope and use of AA to include minorities other than blacks.
On March 6, 1961 President John F. Kennedy issued Executive Order 10925, which included a provision that government contractors "take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, creed, color, or national origin."
Yes race and gender are subjective also today, where have you beenUh, race and gender are OBJECTIVE criteria!
Oops!
Part of what young adults should be learning is how to be good citizens.Admission should be about fairness, not good citizenship.
Once again being a "Good Citizen" is subjective.Part of what young adults should be learning is how to be good citizens.
If you've got a smart kid that's never done anything but study to get good grades compared to a kid who has participated in Knowledge Bowl, volunteered at a soup kitchen, and worked a part-time job, this is the kid more likely to do well in college. They have learned how to manage their time and accept responsibilities.
When you get your first professional job it isn't all about your college GPA. Employers want well rounded people. They want people who have learned how to organize busy lives, that have learned to work well with others, etc.
And if there are 10 people with identical GPA and test scores competing for the same spot, what do you do?Once again being a "Good Citizen" is subjective.
I believe a good citizen serves Jesus Christ, and opposes the Liberal agenda, you and others may believe different.
GPA and Test Scores for Admission, No Subjective Criteria Involved.
That would be a very isolated case, a lottery would be needed for fairness. And if there are 10 people with identical GPA and test scores competing for the same spot, what do you do?
