  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I really want to learn how to knit... just something that I've always thought was really neat.

Does anyone have any good advice on some good books or websites to help me get started??? Or just any good advice about it general???

I would love it if someone could help me! Thanks!

Do you know anyone who could knit who could teach you? It really is quite easy to pick up.

My other suggestion is that you go to a yarn shop and ask the ladies there to show you. They are always ready to help out with queries and if they are not too busy I am sure they would be happy to help. Maybe you could browse the craft magazines as some may have instructions illustrated that you could follow.

Let us know how you get on.:)

Blessings

May I just throw in a suggestion for any left-handers who want to learn to knit, and can only find right-handed teachers - try using a mirror, so the left-hander can reverse movements?

My family tried to teach me for ages...until my auntie came up with that idea!!

God bless

Good luck with learning to knit...may you find it very rewarding! xxx
