Does anyone have any advice on how to stop a 2 year old from biting? His daycare has a biting policy and he is close to being kicked out from his daycare. In the area where I live, there is not a lot of GOOD options as far as daycare. He didn't bite for the first 4 months that he was at daycare but now he has started biting (they say mostly over toys and sometimes "unprovoked"). He has always been a biter, even as early as when he was breastfeeding, but had never bitten another child before he started in daycare. I have always let him know that biting is unacceptable. I have tried time out, spanking, and trying to talk to him about it. I even tried to "bite back" to show him how it feels as some parents told me try. They swore to me that their kid stopped biting after the first time they bit them back. I have prayed about it and continue to pray. Well, none of it has worked obviously. I don't know what to do. The daycare is basically harrassing me and saying, "Well, we have to do something or else he can't be here anymore. He can't keep biting the other children." I don't feel like he biting because of anything at home either. Nothing at home has changed. He has 2 loving, adoring parents and no changes have been happening in our lives. I'm at a loss.
