• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I too have been struggling with masturbation. Before I became a true Christian, I'd struggled my entire life with this since I was five, then I got baptized into God's family and overcame it at age 25. Then it crept back up during my Christian walk when I became engaged, 7 years later. Luckily, with a group of women who shared the same battle , we formed a purity group and kept each other accountable, daily. That helped and after I got married I never looked back. Now, three and a half years into marriage, the last three weeks masturbation has crept up on me. Iv'e done in twice in three weeks. I confessed to my small group, prayed read scriptures, but Iv'e done it again since. Starting to feel like the addiction is coming back, but I'm am married. My hubby should be satisfying those needs. I'd love some advice, especially from a married woman, if you are out there.

Dear Sister,

I understand your disgust for this sin. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. I am not married but, I could not keep silent after reading your post. You need help.
I was addicted to this sin myself for 8 years. I fought this sin and gave up one day - and decided to leave Christianity. That day I was ready to go to hell - because that is what I deserve. You know what happened that day - our loving Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ intervened in my life and led me to Setting Captives Free online ministry. I took up the 60 day interactive course - Way of Purity and our Lord Jesus completely set me free. I am sure you will find married people there to help you because they assign mentors who counsel you and pray for you. This course is free to join.
If you want me to be an accountability partner, I would be glad to help you for the glory of God. Please feel free to write to me.

Sharon
