This was a beautiful film; most of my friends and family believe homosexuality to be a sin and are dead-set to never see the movie. I wasn't allowed, either (not that I asked...), but I recently rented it privately and was totally blown away.

Like an earlier post said, this film is not about "gay cowboys." In fact, I wouldn't even go so far as to say that Jack and Ennis were even fully homosexual. They had a bond that broke the boundaries of gender.

The acting in this movie is incredible, and now that I've seen it I truly believe Heath Ledger was robbed of the Oscar win! Sadly, he will now never get another chance at the golden statue. Thank you, Academy!!

I was entranced the entire time; nothing in it was offensive or bad, in my opinion. From what I had been hearing I was expecting graphic sex scenes and such, but that was not the case.

I would take the R-rating seriously. There's some language and obviously it deals with sensitive and dramatic issues, homosexual love being one of these. I would say this movie is appropriate for MATURE 15 year-olds and older.

Brokeback Mountain is one of my favorite films of all time (and I am a Christian, and I'm not gay). :)
