  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The difference is my heart burns on the issue of the One New Man.

Mine does not.

While I also hail from the Christian pasture, I consider myself a guest in this one. I do not necessarily consider this one any greener, nor will I ever. I do not consider it less green either. I consider it other.

The presumption I see being advanced in this thread is that there are no differences, or that there should be none.

Poppycock.

The rise of the Messianic Movement is IMO eschatological. It is a mirror that reflects G-d's light and anticipates but does not influence G-d's timetable.

For the Movement to be truly eschatological IMO it must maintain its Jewishness. Sheep like me pose no threat, hungry bulls do. Bulls storm in here with an agenda. They are hungry, frothy and steamy at the mouth, and rather noisy and noticeable at times. This pasture has its own young bulls, as well it should.

As someone once wrote, a bull is a bull is a bull, and of course they rarely symbolize the dovish Holy Spirit I know and love. Nope, ain't no Shekinah in them clouds. Say Alleluia!

Time to graze. Unlike some, I am not here to co-opt this Movement, or to build a new temple. I know my Master's voice. It is never noisy.

I'm zealous for balance.
I'm zealous for Yeshua. All of Him. All of everything He would have me learn, and embrace and know and grow in. And nothing of what He wouldn't. If that makes me unbalanced... hooray for unbalance. :| woot.

Who in the Bible can you point to as stellar examples of being "balanced" anyway? Hm... see a lot of folks in there who were mighty zealous for G-d and righteousness. don't know of many people in there who were too worried about being "balanced". Hows about Mary the mum of Yeshua. Did she look at the angel and say, "uh, Whoa dude, I get what yer saying, but uh... could we be balanced about this?" How about Elijah... and Elisha? Daniel; Rach Shach and Benny*; Joseph; David; John the Immerser?

My apologies, but I am very weary of seeing your catch-phrases used to beat people over the head with "you're not good enough... you're not like MEEEEEEEE." And ya know what? When I see it happen from the other side (which is rare, but I have seen it) it ticks me off too. How's that for being balanced? Fair and equal time ;)

By the way, why didn't anybody write down christian authors or pioneers they respect?

Even one.
Speaking for myself, I didn't because I saw your thread as yet another attempt to show that the rest of us on here need your reminders to be balanced about Christianity. YOU DON'T KNOW ANYONE HERE IN REAL LIFE. I have said this until my fingers may fall off -- you don't have one tiny clue how balanced NY individual person is here, based upon WHAT THEY CHOOSE TO POST ABOUT MOST OFTEN ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD.

I homeschool my six children. They read voraciously... and all of them must read the biographies of, as I said on your other thread, many of the people you mentioned. I would have been happy to add Corry Ten Boom and a good many other Christians to your list, had I felt it wasn't a bogus thread.

BTW- My feelings were at least right with one if not more on this forum
"One" does not mean "more than one" "Two" does not make a "majority" "three" is still known as "a few" and I am every bit as prophetically called as you are... my, I suspect, very young prophetic friend. You might ask the Lord how to proceed a bit more graciously yourself as well. It's not easy to temper that G-d-given fire... I know... BTDT... and right about now I want to tell you, as one who walks a similar path as you are claiming to... don't allow your calling to get in the way of your ministering.

This is a wonderful place to learn, to share, and to open up your heart to the workings of the Lord. we all have been blessed by the Lord, each at our own level, from the personal, to the historic, to the prophetic, to the discernments, and on and on go the list of gifts and blessing the Lord has provided each and every one of us.

Just because the Lord talked with you while you were with your congregation...Yadda Yadda church/congration/temple/organization/belief system..does not change the Lord's workings. He will be bringing all these thoughts of His....which he has passes out to all these "finite"..should I add the word "fine" too...minds....because we all can not comprehend the infinite mind of God by ourselves. These truths that are scattered like gems are to be gathered up to form the kingdom of God in its true colors, which are like the rainbow. There are twelve gates to the city, and not everyone is going to come in the same gate, but God is leading us all home. Let us look up and pray for His leading, even when it leads somewhere we never would have thought God may have wanted us to go. We are all here to learn where God is leading and follow him.

Pointing fingers, making accusations, and refusing to even prayerfully ask the Lord's opinion on this is not the wisest thing to be doing in the last days. Everything related to the Lord should be prayerfully considered, it may be the key that will unlock the questions of your heart and bring you even closer in your relationship with Him who can save you.

JH, sad to say, I agree with Zemmy. Every time I come across your threads, especially the one liners, I see lots of self-righteous rhetoric. It's the way you needle to get under our skin, instead of opening up to honest and civil discussion. It strikes me how, as a self-professed missionary, you seek to berate your brothers and sisters in Yeshua, instead of learning of the immensely diverse ways that Yeshua blesses his people, how they honestly approach him and have a rich and vivid life in him. You've become an anti-missionary of sorts.

It's the heart, JH. It's the heart.

Im well aware that there are others on this forum with the same opinion as you, infact Im sure there are many. But thats the thing! I dont mind at all, they are still Messianics and while we may not agree on theology it doesnt mean we cant be friends and learn from each other, rather than going on tangents every time someone expresses their opinions!

That statement is a opinion, it dosnet mean we cant get along on these threads and listen to each other, instead of yelling with our typing fingers.

Hi, I hope I'm not intruding.. I don't know if this board is Messianic's only and I'm not sure exactly how to tell... as I did read the FAQ's. I'm just here out of curiouisity and to learn.. and one thing I noticed is that most of the people in this forum write G_d instead of God... can I ask the purpose? Sorry for taking this thread off topic...
Mods feel free to move this question to another thread if necessary... thanks!

Barukh HaBa (Welcome!) Right neighborly of you to drop in and visit a spell ;) And right kind of you to actually ask questions about forum rules *before* you get up to your elbows in a thread!! Not many are wise enough to do that :)

First to your query about why many of us write G-d, here's a couple of short threads where that question was addressed :) http://www.christianforums.com/t104492 ; http://www.christianforums.com/t73604

As to "I don't know if this board is Messianic's only and I'm not sure exactly how to tell... as I did read the FAQ's. I'm just here out of curiouisity and to learn" - that is way kewl ;) The FAQ is a great resource for info on Messianic Judaism - it is a work in progress and won't be finished until Messiah return - but not for lack of effort as Justin has/is/will worked very diligently on it!!

However our forum rules can be found in a different sticky: http://www.christianforums.com/t34460 Specificlly the question you asked is addressed in rule #3 - watch the flow of posts and you'll get the hang of it!! Learning is always welcome here!!

Thank you very much Henaynei for responding to that question. Im perhaps more than partly responsible(perhaps that little icon has something to with it?) for that. I spent about 2 1/2 hours looking for a thread that addresses that question and to my surprise I notice you have found one. So again Thank you Henaynei. And I hope I have not made to big of a splash in the this pond.

LOL - Shalom Chaver/friend,

You are quite welcome for what small assistance I was able to send your way! It helps in the searches (since they won't search terms under four letters) to have a bit of "inside" info ;)
You are welcome to come "svim in de' pool" Just play nice and we'll all have fun!! http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001 You are off to a great start!!

Henaynei,

Thank you for your responce.. quick and informative! appreciated!
Although I'm not sure I feel completely the same, I do respect the idea and thought behind it, and if posting in this forum will do my best to do the same.

I was also happy to learn that I can post here if I have more questions.. especially since I've gotten such a great answer already and have seen others :) Thanks again!
