• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I had an addiction to a site called Second Life that I am finally off of. It was where I met the woman who later kidnapped me. It seemed like the most beautiful site but it was a cruel site where people hid behind their avatars and preyed on others. I am still recovering and healing from loosing Second Life. It was a site I was on for over two years and loved alot. Please send encouraging words and prayer.

Second Life is evil. Not saying that from a christian perspective but from a human one. I was part of it for months and the deeper I got, the more evil it felt. So many people were mentally ill it seemed. My last run in was with a "furry" group. They were nasty to me and really thought the ingame world was the real world. They didn't want to be part of the real world they said. They were offended that I called SL a game. >.<

Thank you for this post. I do agree Second Life is evil, sadly. I met someone on the site who later kidnapped me and tortured me. She was part of a cult on the site.

I logged back into Second Life today to see if anything had changed and if it seemed less evil. It seems more evil to me, there is still no police on the community. I should not have logged back in. That is part of my addiction.

I was on the teen version of Second Life when it was out. Have some great memories and made some great friends there, there wasn't anything sinister to be found to be honest. However, moving to the adult sim there is a lot of wicked stuff to uncover. I did manage to find a Church on their though, not sure how it was really. I am truly sorry you had such a traumatic experience. When you say they later tortured you, do you mean in Second Life or out of Second Life? Forgive me, just unsure what you meant.

I was never on the teen version of Second life but it sounds very nice. The adult version, I found, was full of people who were liars and manipulators. There were also Satanist there.
I was tortured because I met a woman in Second Life named Silver. I thought she was my friend, I knew her for two years on Second Life. I then went to live with her in her apartment. It was then that she began to abuse me and she held me in the apartment against my will and would only let me go places with her. She let me speak with my family on the phone but forced me to tell them I was doing okay. So they did not know about the abuse. She was a satanist. She raped me and beat me and got two of her guy friends to rape me too. This went on for over 8 months. She made me destroy Bibles in the name of Satan and would abuse me while listening to Christian music. She took me to a Christian church sometimes and would make me leave the service and go to the bathroom with her where she would abuse me. It was a horrific experience. When she let me go I made a police report on her. She cant bother me again. I became a Christian because she wanted me to be Christian to abuse me. I have stayed a Christian and God has been healing me.

That is so demonstrably awful, I can't even begin to explain. I am so sorry you had to go through all of that. That is sickening. I don't know how or what makes people do these things, I am naive in thinking people think like I do. People definitely don't, i'm beginning to realize this now. I hope you are doing okay now, and hope life is much better for you?

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am still in the healing process. I do not understand why they treated me as they did and I still have an enormous pain over it, but God is with me. I feel God will heal me.

Yes, definately. Being around or with good people with good hearts will help too, and maybe opening up to decent people about what has happened may help.

Yes, my family doesn't know but I have a counselor and have told her. I am also thankful for Christian Forums because I often express what happened to me here and it feels good to be able to receive encouragement and prayers.

I haven't been through anything as bad, but if you need anyone to talk to i'm here. Just throw me a message. I am glad you have a counselor, is there a certain reason you don't talk to your family about it?

Thank you so much for these words. I don't tell my family about it because I think they would be too upset. I find it easier to tell my counselor and people on Christian Forums.

No worries at all, I understand. Just do whatever makes you feel most comfortable. There are good people out there so don't lose faith in humanity.

Thank you for saying this. I will try not to lose faith in humanity. I am grateful for all the good people here, like yourself, in Christian Forums.
