right….. this is something for fun. The rpg is a mix of humour (comedy)/action/drama/romance.

Plot: An artifact of ancient origin was said to be able to call on the power of the demon King. It was rumoured that this power could do anything… it could laid waste to the entire world, it could summon up more minions from hell, it could change you from human to a supernatural being. The rumours were all very farfetched, but the real power of it remained unclear.

The story goes like this. A character accidentally stumbles upon this artifact, not knowing what it is. He/she is then pursued by creatures of every kind (or just a group), still without knowing the reason behind it; but when he/she finds out (or rather, the villain lets he/she know), the character of course, is unwilling to give up the artifact, knowing it will bring upon the destruction of everything.

Well, before that, is when all other characters come in. Each player will have one main character, this character will join up with the others to form this group (each joining with a reason of his own). Your character should have at least one weakness, either of skills, or opinions….. etc. You can also have other characters, but they won't play a main part in the story. Generally.. this rpg is kind of concentrated on individuals more.

ops.... see, i've been using the same names with different personalites and appearances in different stories, lol.
oh Kookaburra, you're using a male character! and Grimr's back with his bad guys. :)
----

A pile of wood sat before her. Taking in a deep breath, she concentrated. Something like a spark of fire appeared in the air, but its existence was short lived as it quickly vanished before being replaced by what clearly looked like condensed smoke. Ryaren sighed deeply, another failed attempt to light up a fire. Really, how hard can it be? Just as she was about to take out some flint, she noticed movements from the forest beside the road.

Curious, and careful to stay low, she made her way into the forest, her robe brushing against the lower bushes and her boots making no noise on the soft earth. It wasn’t that she was that curious, but one had to be vigilant these days. Keeping her breathing regular, she stopped to hide behind a tree, turning in a way that allowed a view of the person she was following yet she herself remained unseen.

The man didn’t seem to notice her presence. He was obviously intended on something. Bending down, he knelt on the ground and started to dig with his fingers; with his back to her, Ryaren couldn’t see the look on his face. She wanted to a take a better look when something rustled nearby.

She froze. Slowly, her heart rate quickening, she looked up to the source of the noise. Someone was hiding on a tree and that someone had either seen her or had not. Meanwhile, the man still bent on the ground had a thing wrapped in an old cloth in his hand. He didn’t have time to straightened up before the sound of something cutting through the air alerted him, and he could only roll aside swiftly to dodge it. The dagger thudded down into the soil.

“Whoever you are, show yourself!” the man with the thing said shakily, his small brown eyes darting about.
A figure clad in green jumped out of a tree to land ten paces from him. “Give it to me,” he said flatly, the two daggers gleaming in his hand.

The man took a step back, his left hand tightening on the thing while his right fingered the hilt of the sword uneasily.

Morgoth was awakened by the one of his many spies he reported that the artifact he had been searching for since he fell to Earth had been found. Morgoth summoned two of his great captains one a man and the other a demon. What is your bidding master the two captains asked as they bowed before him. The artifact has been found bring it to me Demongo (the demon captain) and bring the one who found it to me. As you wish master Demongo vanished in a flash of flames. Morgoth then turned to his human captain. So my servant how is the creation going? Sire we are nearly complete with the torture and mutilation of our slaves. Excellent soon we shall be ready with the artifact and my new monsters none shall stand in my way I shall throw down my former masters and become the supreme god of the cosmos and all shall fear the name Morgoth.

Meanwhile in the forest: Demongo appeared behind his quarry he then showed himself in a great ball of flame. Quiver in fear mortals fools I am Demongo second in command of the Dark Lord Morgoth You three the ones that discovered the item of great power will come with me for Morgoth knows you have it do not attempt to run or you shall die where you stand my master only wishes to reward you handsomely for your discovery.

Hows that? also it's not a Demon army its just one demon the main solders of Morgoth are men and other monsters.

"No way!" the man cried, his left hand tightening on the thing.

Ryaren's hand flew to her mouth, now who was this? things were getting very bizzare here. "Excuse me, i don't know what your business is, but i'm only passing," she said calmly, stepping out into view to lean against the tree, her arms crossed.

The figure in black looked up at the newcomer without any alarming reaction, though his eyes were calculating. He didn't seem to care that this stranger had just appeared with fire surrounding him.

Yeah, I like to expand my horizons, Blessed. :D Who's the figure in black, or is that supposed to be some top-secret identity? Uh, Grimr . . . perhaps not have the demons attack so soon or very often? I don't think Morgoth would know it was discovered yet, since only God is Omnicient. I'm kind of cooling the subject for now, but yeah. Otherwise, good post.

~~~~~
Liam's golden eyes snapped open, and he sat up. Somewhere nearby, he felt the unmistakeable presence of a demon of Morgoth! Suddenly alerted, he jumped to his feet and picked up his staff, the network of protective vines that had hidden his resting spot from unfriendly eyes withdrawing their green tendrils from overhead. Running a hand through his blond hair, he surveyed the surrounding area, unworried but slightly dismayed.
So Morgoth was making his strategic but unwise move.
Liam's eyes focused in on a cluster of wide-girthed trees to his left, and his mind locked on the demon's. Instantly, it perceived him and turned from his intended prey. Flame suddenly erupted above the tree-tops, glowing red and orange. Unconcerned with what anything that was going on, Liam made his way quickly down the green-turfed slope to the first of the trees, not really worrying about whether he skylined himself or not. Holding his white staff in front of him, he wove his way through the maze until he decided he was close enough for the demon to see him.
The creature from the Pit had not been idle, and two of the tall poplar's were already blazing merrily, starkly illuminating the three other humans in its wavering orange light. They seemed to be waiting for something, but the demon was no longer interested in them, he'd no doubt get back to them after a rather . . . pressing matter. The flaming sword was still sheathed, and he intended to play a little with this Guardian creature, so he held his firewhip ready, coiled like a red snake around his black-mailed arm. His eyes burned red in his face like embers as he assessed the strength in the golden ones.
Satisfied, he threw his horned head back and opened his jaws, a hot wind blasting the hair from Liams eyes, who remained unmoved. The demon was somewhat surprised, but he still held the upper hand, at least in his mind. Lowering his head like a charging bull, he raised the whip and sent an exploratory flick at Liam's head, who merely moved his head to the side, his eyes never leaving the Demon's. The game of cat and mouse began, with the demon circling and flinging his coiled whip at the dwarfed Liam, who ducked it every time like some cruel game of skipping rope.
The smoke was getting thicker now, a black, sulfurous fume. The Demon threw up his whip in frustration, letting it dissolve into a shower of sparks that rained down upon his enemy. He then clasped his swordhilt and drew it, one of the infamous demonblades of Morgoth. He spewed out a wave of fire and reared back to strike, putting all of his strength into the one blow. Neither of them had said anything except for the demon's occasional curse and a few words none of the humans could understand. But now, Liam began to chant softly, his voice all but drowned out in the crackling of the flames and the demon's roar. But his voice became strengthened and rose above the violent discord, a sort of white glow ensconcing him as he raised his staff once more, the blue stone shining.
Suddenly checked, the demon's eyes widened in fury, but he replaced his sword and spat a wad of lava at Liam. "Well met, Guardian. We shall meet again." He vanished in a puff of broiling red smoke.
if i read it correctly, the one that vanished was Morgoth, right?
no dark secrets Kookaburra, i wasn't intending to invent a name for the dark figure and the man, as i was planning to have them kill each other off in the beginning, now i can't do that. :p You can get creative if you wanted.
I like playing female characters, actually, though I really don't have much experience with being a female ;) I've played them in computer game RPG's before though.
------
Name: Arela Nameril
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Skills/Power/Weaknesses thing ;):
Magic: Skilled, especially with that of fire.[/i]
Weapons: Two thin daggers and a slender long bow. Arela doesn't carry any arrows...
Weaknesses: Has a tendency to take everything lightly, unless she (or her friends) are in very pressing danger, which can both be a virtue and a vice. She also fatigues easily.
Apperance: Arela is tall and seldner with long golden hair, which she always wears down. Her eyes are blue, and she appears to be ageless. Her bow is at her back, and her daggers at both of her hips, and her attire is a robe, ivory in color; but she wears a dark blue cloak that normally covers all of this. She has a silver ring on her third finger on her right hand.
She has, oddly, pointy ears. ;)
--------------------------
I hope you don't mind me meeting you, BlessedOne I hate being alone you know. =D
--------------------------
Arela continued running swiftly. She'd show him! Suddenly the squirrel stopped, and Arela passed it; the squirrel ran up a tree. "Ohhhh, rats..." she muttered. Then she broke out laughing merrily, rebuking the squirrel, "I'll tag you sometime, be sure of it!" The squirrel merely chattered at her from the tree. Still giggling, Arela walked back towards the road.
After walking for some time, she saw a slight glow off to the side of the road. Pulling her cloak about her, and making a strange motion with her hands, she suddenly became hard to see - she ran lightly towards the glow, wondering what was going on, and whether or not there were any squirrels to play tag with.
She was surprised to see the fire, the old man, and the dangerous looking man in the green cloak. She decided that this was not the time to get involved, and sat down next to a tree and waited to see what would happen. Maybe it was a band of wandering actors rehearsing!
no, not Morgoth . . . Morgoth is the main one. Morgoth would be stronger than one Guardian, methinks. Guardians aren't angels exactly, so yeah. Oh, and you can still have the black dude killed. Apparantly the demons have the advantage of teleport, lol. You could have him pop up any time you like, lol.
Oh, and I also forgot this for Liam:
Weakness(es): lack of social contact, and because of his 'duty' as a guardian, he has a commitment to protecting the 'object thingomajiggi' by life or death, although he is not actually allowed to have it in his possession.
welcome to the rpg, paulewog!
thanks Kookaburra. Maybe i don't have to kill him, i can make him a non essential character... or a third party.
----
The man looked nervously from one person to another. He knew the figure in black was after him, but who was this girl and this green clad man? and he just dispatched Demongo, whose identity of a demon was unknown to him, as if he had just swatted a fly aside. Clutching the thing even tighter, he edged towards the trees while everyone's eyes were on Liam.
A dagger materialised on the tree directly in front of him, and another hit the ground inches from his left foot. "You're not going anywhere," the man in black said sharply.
Ellis turned to regard the man with the white staff after having put his prey in place. "The Kenderila is mine," he said impassively, two more daggers found their ways into his hand. He seemed to be full of daggers hiding in his clothing.
Ryaren kept her peace.
Yes, welcommen Paule! Enjoy the add-on! :D
~~~~~

Liam crossed his arms, staff held lightly in his right hand, and did some quick calculating mentally, keeping his face impassive. His eyes turned to the as yet undeclared Ryaren, who was leaning nonchalently against a tree, her position unclear as no doubt she intended. Could he trust her to back him up, or would she turn out to be on the 'other' side? He did not know, so he would not risk it.

Lifting his chin the slightest, letting his eyes bore into those of Ellis. "The Kenderila, is no one's. If I am correct, you have no claim other than that of 'finders keepers'. It is my duty as a Guardian to make sure that this item does not fall into the hands of the corrupted." His eyes swept the circle, and then the words sprang into the minds of the three others as he looked at them, as if spoken. By life or death . . . I shall protect it.

He looked at Ryaren, eyes sharp. Who was she? Her face held no secrets of her life, and he hesitated to use his telepathy to pry except in situations when absolutely necessary. But there was no evidence that she was either for or against him, or that she even knew what he was talking about. If she indeed proved trustworthy, then she would prove a good carrier for the Kenderila.

Then Liam turned to look at the man who had originally been unfortunate enough to have picked up the said artifact. His eyes were continually shifting from person to person, and he looked like he wanted to melt away and vanish. He could tell that the power of the Kenderila had already had an effect on him, short as his possession been.

And Ellis . . . there was something about him that promoted a nagging concern in Liam's mind, something that just touched on the edge of his mind, unrecognized but not entirely disregarded. To be cloaked heavily in black seemed out of place to him, and Liam deemed his eager hunger to possess the Kenderila was not entirely just for himself. Was he renegade, living only for himself . . . or for some evil higher up, some entity of which Liam was not aware? He watched him suspiciously. He was pretty sure that he was a match for Ellis if it came to it, though in different ways.

Ellis seemed to be a backstabber, assassain type. Where could he have come from?

Liam stared fixedly at him, the white haze dimming as he replaced his own green hood, shadowing his eyes. He waited . . . he didn't know what for, but this seemed to be a battle of wills. He wasn't about to let his 'charge' pass into shadows or flame to an evil end.

Ellis had a suspicion, and it was proven correct when Liam spoke or rather, when his voice sounded in his mind. So he is the guardian to the Kenderila. Those types aren't good to fight against. His eyes glanced at Ryaren and the man, who was standing quivering beside the dagger on the ground. Today may not be his lucky day, the girl was merely passing as she said, but who knows how she would turn out to be... and the man.. now that was a different matter.

"I'll leave it to your keeping, but not for long." he said to Liam, his eyes threatening, then pulling the cloak around him, he melted into the trees.

Ryaren's lips thinned into a line. She wondered what she should do. She was a bit surprised that Liam's voice suddenly sounded in her head, though she did a pretty good job in disguising her inner reaction. Telepathy was not a common magic and she had only studied a bit of it from some ancient texts. What did it say about telepathy? As she searched through her memories, a thought hit her like lightning and she eyed Liam warily. Of course, that did not mean he just read her mind, but she would love to keep her thinking to herself thanks. Still, it was unnerving knowing someone could just read your mind whenever he wanted. Careful to keep a watch on him, Ryaren pushed her back off the tree just as a scream cut through the air. The man with the thing in his hand, which was already gone, was slowly toppling onto the earth, both of his hands clutching his throat, dull red blood seeping down between his fingers as his eyes turned lifeless. Ryaren was beside him immediately. The dagger spoke volumns. Ellis had not left as he said, but he had doubled back to strike unexpectedly.

Liam knelt beside the wounded man, and then he looked up at Ryaren. "He's gone," he said simply, laying the man flat on the ground. "His intentions were correct to begin with, so his mission was not wholly feigned." He inspected the ground around his feet, found a crushed blade of grass just within the ring of trees, then another. With the skill of a hunter, he began to follow Ellis as he fled. As he left the clearing, he looked back at Ryaren, unsure of what she would do. As he tracked, he began to think on his feet. Focusing his telepathy, he managed to get a bead on Ellis's location. Still further, he ventured to invade his mind. A dozen different sensations poured across his mind, but he kept moving. If he wanted to catch up and recover the Kenderila, to give into someone's safekeeping. The only catch with giving it to a human was that he would then be bound to his duty to guard it to life or death, and that most probably involved travelling.

Ellis's thoughts were now running through Liam's mind, and he assessed them quickly, wondering what he would do next. As he waited for something significant, he looked back, where trees almost obscured the distant clearing. He was torn about wanting to know about Ryaren, and wanting to not know.

Arela suddenly stood up, her eyes flashing. Did she fall asleep? What was that voice in her head, how did it get there! Then the man screamed, and began to fall to the earth. It was no dream, the man had just been killed!

Arela, forgetting the voice, fire, and the man with the daggers, ran to the dieing man, eyes wide with wonder. Suddenly she stopped short seeing Liam as she glanced around - he must have been the one that put the voice in her head! Pausing for a moment to look at him, she took off running towards the man again.

He was dead.

"Oh!...." Arela stifled her cry, as tears flowed down her cheeks. Sparks of anger crept into her eyes, and the sparks gave way to flames...

Arela watched the strange man run off, and debated with herself whether or not to follow him. She glanced at the girl next to her, eyes still full of anger and wonder.

oh, no guns allowed! this is fantasy.... medieval type, sorry for the confusion.
----

Kenderila. The ancient artifact that was rumoured to contain demonic power... how many people would love to get a hand on it, yet its existence was a legend. This was the name given to it by its original makers, but the more common name known by every continent was The black horn. As Liam moved to follow Ellis's tracks, his back rapidly becoming a green blur, Ryaren gave chase also, unaware of Arela's presence who had just come close to the dead man's spot. How and why was the Kenderila appearing at this moment? and what was Liam's purpose here, besides guarding the artifact as he said. Apparently, if he really was the guardian, something must be seriously afoot. A guardian would not let a thing this important to fall into enemy's hand.

Soon, she was able to see the back of Liam, it wouldn't take long for her to catch up with him.
----

Trying to lose his pursuers, Ellis headed straight for the hut. What he didn't expect was that the man sleeping in the hut woke up suddenly and fired at him. Ellis gave a small curse, who would be so ridiculous as to attack when he was just simply passing by? anyone could tell he meant no harm, unless this guy was actually part of the guardian's plot. The right leg could no longer move smoothily, yet Ellis ran on, keenly aware of Liam's thoughts tracking him.

Rats. I've got to use this now, maybe that will dissuade them.

While keeping up the pace, he took hold of the cloth covering the horn and threw it away, the dirty yellow cloth riding the wind for a moment before it came to rest on a nearby branch, high in the air. Ellis was in perfect shape, he could've outrun anyone if not for the injured leg. Lifting the horn to his lips as the leaves on the ground were kicked up by his boots, he blew.

Nothing happened.
