ADD as a blessing

Most people suffer from ADD when they are hyper. Medications usually promote the lack of flow of thought

Um, ADD does not mean hyper. ADD can be without hyperactivity. Medications (whether natural or not) CAN help the person organize thoughts.

my ADD is the source of my creativity. God has gifted with the talent of art, dance, and more. It all comes to to the fact that God's ADD is the fuel for my creativity. (I'm actually AD/HD...twice the blessing!)

It is speculated that ADD was a genetic advantage at some point, producing someone better suited to hunt game. Unfortunately modern society has nullified the advantages of many of those traits..

i've not been diagnosed yet but i know in my heart i have ADHD. i'm extremely hyper, i love thinking about anything, i can't ever focus on schoolwork unless im interested in it, im very creative. I LOVE MY ADHD! even though my mind is constantly busy, i love who i am and i refuse to take medication for it.

I think it is like I could say "being sexually abused as a child was a blessing cuz it lead to me seeking God to help with all the emotional fallout". That is baloney. There are amazing things God can do for us when we submit our broken lives to him but I see the effects of the disorder close at hand at home and in my job and it is tough going for many kids.
I have at least two of my four sons with it. One is more ADD and at 29 still is struggling with finding a steady job and figuring out what really he wants out of life. He is very smart has taken several career streams in terms of schooling but he still lives at home and is obsessed with computers and Hip Hop. Now this isn't bad but he needs constant nudging to deal with the realities of life. On the positive side he has used his laid back and compassionate nature to spearhead a youth group at our small church. My other son is much younger, more ADHD but also Gifted LD which often mimics ADHD. He sees life in Black and White so stands strong for Jesus at least on an intellectual scale. He however, is a master of Foot in Mouth disese and just doesn't get other people some time. Both have suffered and for sure our family has suffered fromthese condiditons. I have another son who was never tested but has kind of ended up in neverland unable to settle down and stick with anything touble with drugs etc. never a behavior problem really as a kid but never graduated and I suspect undiagnosed ADD. With Gods help we move on and grow but ADD ADHD a divine blessing NO WAY.

See my previoius post I think probably it wasn't ADHD so much as Gifted LD that they had.(Same as Einstein)

I am actually very happy that you feel this way about it. Maybe it isn't ADHD just your personality as ADHD is usually diagnosed based on problems coping with life not successes. Perhaps you are gifted.

I have ADHD and I love me! I am not on meds I have a great full time job and go to school full time. People love to be around me because I am always doing something of the wall. A few months ago my wife hated it but now she loves it like everyone else. Laughter is a powerful weapon that ADHD has armed me with, its a gift from God.

It also helps me do things that might scare others like going to talk with the boss, everyone gets nervous , you would think i was a lion!

Oh so who are these people the 1's who can afford the "REAL" medication. LOL I was told by my shrink you grow out of things but I have been getting progressively more useful in making people go What the.....is his problem. HELP me before I go loony people . If my posting ravanously isnt a sign of my desperation then I dont know what else to type. Even though it wont stopme from typing anyways. GOD can somebody please HELP
