Some of my children have had this label nearly placed on them, but not quite. Most of my family, there are 8 children, have taken the "test" from a famous doctor in CT, I also took it.
We have had experience with ritalin, adderal and a few natural remedies.
In the end, nearly all of this ADD behavior has vanished, due to several reasons, I'm quite certain.
What helped them the most was getting away from their mentally unstable mother, living in an orderly, somewhat peaceful environment, eating regular, healthy meals, avoiding excess sugar and junk food, having a regular bedtime, lots of physical activity(lots), and attending a school that is challenging and open to different learning styles.
For us, ADD meant that they were had a deficit of attention given to them, as in the above described care, so they created disorder to get it!
Now that they have it, they are rather calm and focused.
My daughter was in 10th grade when these changed started, and now she has a 3.7 GPA, is very responsible, cooperative, and even was awarded a full scholarship to a very good college in Mass.
Thank God, and all the supportive people in our community!
