I'd say it is. I've never met a creationist clergyman.
How many clergymen have you met? And out of those how many were evangelical, liberal, evangelical liberal (yes that category seems to exist now lol) evangelical reformed, evangelical charismatic, pentecostal etc etc etc. And out of all those you have met how many regard the bible as inerrant and the final authority in all matters of faith?

As a fellow "Britisher" I agree that creationism seems to be a minority view amongst the majority of Christians in this fair isle. However, there may be pockets where it is more prevalent. From the days when I listened to Premier Radio I wonder if the view is held by a higher proportion of Londoners than other Britons.

Nice to come across both of you again. I thought it was a good sign to see you both here, so I thought I'd see what I might be missing. :)

British clergy don't talk about creation theories- but they should and they should all embrace evolution. In actual fact, the faith movement in the UK, a Catholic society promoting the harmony between modern science and religion is one of the only institutions pumping out Catholic priests.

It is the reluctance to shake off creationism which is killing the priesthood numbers, not evolution.

just to say. I am theistic and follow the literal Adam as do all the Catholic priests and clergy I know. There doesn't have to be conflict there.

Since the soul didn't evolve, there is no way that there could have been massive populations of humans coming from apes. The first man was created when a soul was added to the flesh of the highest ape. The soul makes man unique.
