The Trump tower meeting supposedly was for finding dirt on Hillary. In other words opposition research.
In other words, colluding with a foreign government - at least, that was the intent.

Just as Hillary colluded for Russian disinformation as a way to interfere with an election.

A Washington research firm paid a former British spy’s company $168,000 (126,859.47 pounds) for work on a dossier outlining Russian financial and personal links to Donald Trump’s 2016 election campaign, the U.S. firm said in a statement on Wednesday.

"In an Oct. 29 message posted on Twitter, President Trump said the dossier had cost as much as $12 million, without providing evidence.

“Never seen such Republican ANGER & UNITY as I have concerning the lack of investigation on Clinton made Fake Dossier (now $12,000,000?),....” Trump tweeted."

Once again, trump is wrong, and you promoted his unproven accusation

She and the DNC got fined for doing it

WashingtonCNN —
Federal election regulators fined Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee earlier this month for not properly disclosing the money they spent on controversial opposition research that led to the infamous Trump-Russia dossier.
The DNC was fined $105,000 and the Clinton campaign was fined $8,000, according to a letter sent by the Federal Election Commission to a conservative group that requested an inquiry.
It was reported on

WashingtonCNN —
The law firm for the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee has acknowledged its clients’ role in paying for opposition research on Donald Trump that helped fund the now-infamous dossier of allegations about the now-President and Russia.
A source familiar with the matter told CNN on Tuesday that the law firm Perkins Coie, as part of its representation of the Clinton campaign and the DNC, retained the intelligence firm Fusion GPS and entered “into an engagement for research services that began in April 2016 and concluded before the election in early November.”
A letter to Fusion GPS, which was written by Perkins Coie general counsel Matthew Gehringer, notes that it is revealing its role in hiring Fusion to aid the firm in its fight not to be forced to reveal its confidential list of clients.
Fusion GPS is fighting a legal battle to prevent Fusion’s bank from providing the House intelligence committee records that the panel subpoenaed. The letter was filed with the court on Tuesday.
Trump told reporters on Wednesday that the campaign and DNC’s involvement with the dossier was a “very sad commentary on politics in this country.”
“Hillary Clinton always denied it. The Democrats always denied it, and now, only because it is going to come out in a court case, they said yes they did it. They admitted it and they are embarrassed by it. I think it is a disgrace,” he said.

“By intentionally obscuring their payments through Perkins Coie and failing to publicly disclose the true purpose of those payments” the campaign and DNC “were able to avoid publicly reporting on their statutorily required FEC disclosure forms the fact that they were paying Fusion GPS to perform opposition research on Trump with the intent of influencing the outcome of the 2016 presidential election,” the initial complaint had read.

Please - you cannot possibly really believe anything that comes from Hillary's camp when they were proven wrong and exposed for lying.

Then it never should have been used to obtain a FISA warrant or been any part of the process at all
Why not? Simply because one source might not of been reliable? Isn't that on our services to decide? Did you really want Steele to go through every piece of information and wed out the ones you find objectionable? How was he to know your criteria?

The FBI offered him a million dollars to verify the information. He couldn’t do it yet it was used to obtain FISA warrants on Carter Page. I thought liberals objected to such abuse of power

Hillary paid a foreign source 12,000,000 for dirt on Donald Trump to interfere with his campaign. The foreign source used Russian disinformation as part of a de bunked and unsubstantiated dossier. The dossier was used as part of a base to begin investigating Trump Associates

I’m sure she loved every minute of it.

None of this says Clinton paid a foreign source 12 million dollars.

Sure, but that won't stop this constant repetition during Trump's trials.

Indeed. The whataboutism and deflection from trump and his supporters is exhausting. Amazing that after all these years they are still talking about Hillary Clinton, who was never indicted for anything. trump can claim victory over her in the indictments received battle!

Just as Hillary colluded for Russian disinformation as a way to interfere with an election.

Do you understand that part of disinformation is that it actually has to be disseminated? If not circulated it's just some lie almost nobody knows about.

The Ruski deza operation using Steele's sources and sub-sources FAILED. (At least *during* the campaign.) None of the falsehoods the Russians tried to get into circulation during the campaign via Steele to Fusion GPS to the campaign worked.

Couldn't, wouldn't, how is this relevant? You keep tossing out these facts yet develop no argument from them.

It was included. Are you claiming it should not be for some reason? That is an abuse of power? That makes no sense. Are you claiming including the evidence was illegal for some reason? Unethical? What?

But it worked to get FISA warrants on Carter Page and start an investigation that did considerable damage to Trump. It makes you wonder who’s side the Russians were on.

Doesn't matter if it "worked". The attempt to interfere was there, whether or not it was successful is irrelevant. Otherwise anyone who votes in an election illegally (being a felon, or already voted, or does it under someone else's name) could escape prosecution if the person they voted for didn't end up winning the election.

When I obtained search warrants I had to verify information that the informant had given to show that I had a reliable source. I would think the standards for FISA warrants would be much higher.

The "not ours" side. They like chaos in the "West" more than anything. (A pliant government is also good.)

And those warrants for Page were not known outside the FBI and the court for some time. Certainly long after the election and after they'd expired. Not sure how much "damage" the knowledge of an investigatoin of some fool like Page did to Trump.

What is all this "illegal voter" stuff about.

The attempt to interfere was by the Russians feeding false info to the Clinton campaign. They chose not to use it, so the Russian attempt failed. The Russian attempt to circulate "dirt" on Clinton through the Trump campaign also failed because there was apparently no "consumation" of offer of "dirt" the Russian cut-out made in that Trump Tower meeting.

OK. Your opinion on the general topic of FISA warrants is noted. However, this is not an argument. Most certainly not an argument for "abuse of power".

After Mr. Trump secured the nomination, Fusion GPS was hired on behalf of Mrs. Clinton’s campaign and the D.N.C. by their law firm, Perkins Coie, to compile research about Mr. Trump, his businesses and associates — including possible connections with Russia. It was at that point that Fusion GPS hired Mr. Steele, who has deep sourcing in Russia, to gather information.
In October, Mr. Trump said in a Twitter post that his party was outraged at Mrs. Clinton’s involvement.
Clinton campaign and the D.N.C. of violating campaign finance laws by disguising the payments to Fusion GPS on mandatory disclosures to the Federal Election Commission. Their disclosure reports do not list any payments from the Clinton campaign or the D.N.C. to Fusion GPS. They do list a total of $12.4 million in payments to Perkins Coie,
