There is a movie that I saw on TBN(and NO I do not approve of that channel as having any sort of christian value at all!!!!!)<---except this movie. :D
The movie star'd Anthony Hopkins as Paul, a very young Kelsey Grammer as Peter. The movie ended with Peter's crucifixion.

...any help would be much appreciated. I want to find it so I can buy it for my kids.

Peter & Paul DVD (1981)

It is Robert Foxworth that plays Peter by the way.

I just wanted to ask you why you thought TBN has no Christian value. Speaking personally, TBN was the tool God used to minister to me in order for me to come back to Him after years of my disobedience.

Anyway, I was just curious because I've seen one other post on the internet mentioning how TBN is falsehood as well. I wonder if people actually realize how many hearts God is touching through the means of TBN. I don't get it. TBN doesn't even run commercials. The programs that air on the network are strictly paid for by the ministries that get airtime.

I can't speak for Immersion but even though there are some good shows on TBN there is a whole lot of bad. You need to use a lot of discernment when watching them and compare everything to the Bible. Here is a partial list of the bad:

1. They have a lot of give $$$ to get $$$ ministry that takes place.

2. They have pastors that deny the biblical trinity on such as TD Jakes which I find ironic since they are called the Trinity Broadcasting Networking.

3. They have false prophets like Benny Hinn on who wish they could shoot their critics down with spiritual machine guns.

1. Unfortunetely money makes this world go around. (atypically speaking)

Otherwise TBN wouldn't be able to broadcast in the places around earth like it does. This may sound strange but sometimes you have to look past the $ signs and understand that all types of people tune in to TBN at any given time (billions of them). And they all are looking for something or have a need and TBN is the instrument which God is undeniably using to fill those needs.

2. That's sad. It's scary that anyone much less a pastor would deny that. (Check out the thread about The Trinity going on in the non-denominational forum)

3. I haven't made my mind up on Benny Hinn yet.

Is it true that TBN is capable of being infiltrated by false teachers and false doctrine? Yes, but it sure is better than 95% of the rest of the garbage that is on TV these days.

We may want to start a new thread if you like so that we don't get to far off the subject but I'll comment on what you posted here.

1. I don't have a problem with ministries raising money. Even if it is in the millions or even the hundred of millions. The biggest problem I have with TBN and money is how they raise it. To suggest to people that can't afford to empty their checking accounts to do so anyways because that is what God is telling them to do and that God will give them back more then they give is not just wrong, it is extreamly sinful. I have watched their fundraisers and shows and seen this type of thing time and time again from the TBN personal themselves.

2. I'll probably regret it but I'll check it out. In case you are wondering how he denies the trinity (and I e-mailed his minitry to get more info) is that he doesn't believe that Jesus, God the Father and the Holy Spirit are seperate persons. He believes they are just one person that take on different modes or roles.

3. You can find a list of quotes, in context, online. I won't comment on his claims of raising the dead, healing thousands upon thousands and his slaying people left and right in the spirit. I won't question his Christianity or sinicerity but we do need to compare everything to scripture and warn others that are being drawn into any mistruths that come from him or others.

By the way here is a list of some things I like on TBN:

1. Some of the movie specials.

2. Way of the Master.

3. Documentary specials by those such as Lee Strobel.

One more thing and I should go to bed. Have you seen 'Travel the Road' on TBN? I watched one episode and I was hooked. I'll check your #2 and #3 out though. Thanks and goodnight.

I do enjoy that show. I actually own a few episodes where they go to PNG because I also did short term mission work in PNG and it brings back good memories. I don't agree with all their theology but the show is done well and makes you want to go out and do missions. Have a good night.

Hello, I'm Apostle Gregory Paul Norton, an ordained Apostolic minister,

Though I am a non-trinitarian/Oneness believer. I also believe that it is an unscriptural attitude to have an anti-trinitarian attitude towards people who do believe in the trinitarian doctrine. Oneness is not "Jesus only". Oneness people believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost that the Bible talks about. The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are three manifestations on how God reveals HIMSELF to people in the whole cosmos. It all boils down to how one defines the term "person."

Oneness people just do not believe in the trinity of history. Justin Martyr even made it clear that trinitarians should teach 3 "distinct" persons and not 3 "seperate" persons because this would lead to tritheism. Many North Americans teach the economic trinity that consists of 3 "seperate" persons and not really 3 "distinct" persons that the nicene trinity talks about. This is all the reason why numerous Oneness believers do not believe in the trinity of history because the history is inconsistent, and most North American trinitarians are mostly going against what Justin Martyr immediately and initially tended to be taught on what should be the trinitarian doctrine.

Hope This All Helps,

Apostle Gregory Paul Norton

In regards to your #1 up there...that's the basis for the Word of Faith/Properity Gospel heresy people are calling Christianity now a days.
It's wrong, it's NOT christianity, it's garbage, it's....TBN!!!!
It's also very very sad.

Although, I gotta admit, I am HOOKED on a series called The Stranger...that plays once a week on TBN.

I strongly concur with you ImmersionX

To me, I hate that prosperity crap. And, it's very sad how numerous ministers dress up their delinguency, wastefulness, and fraud up in pledges, faith promises, and commitment cards. Its very sad how the only time ministers come to people in the congregation or over tv is to have their ministry rescued. They want rescued but they really do not want help from the congregation. This makes me sick when ministers pass over humbled servants in the congregation, and yet, the only time the pastor comes to them is to be rescued by them.
