  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have a presentation to do for my class tonight. I have to teach my class a chapter of the book. Now, this shouldn't be a big deal, cause I'm going to school to be a teacher and I'm not afraid of being up in front of people. But I am soooo nervous, I can't get any other work done, and I have some serious butterflies in my belly. I guess I'm nervous because I am teaching my class how to be better teachers, and heck, I don't know that much about it, I'm still learning too! Of course, like an idiot, I had to volunteer to go first, so hopefully my teacher will be kind, and my classmates will support me. Please pray for me cause I'm sooo nervous! :sorry: :help:

Since I am going to college for the same thing, I can share sympathy. First thing is to don't worry. If you're going to be a teacher then you will have to learn how to talk to a group of people. Second thing is I am sure you know the people in your class. Unless you go to a big University or something. Bottom line is if they know you, then they will support you. Plus I am pretty sure that they will treat you the same way they want to be treated. Third thing is going first is so much better. I always went last and found it to be bad. When you are waiting to go last then you aren't learning from what the other presenters are saying. This is because you are worried about what you are gonna say or do. So go first so you can pay attention better to what others say.

Thanks Mr. Cheese, I did it tonight and it went really well! :)
I'm glad to hear it went well :D

Honestly it does get easier with time. I am not a teacher per se although I am a first aid trainer. I used to get really nervous before taking classes as well, but you get used to it. You may even start to enjoy it :D, I hope you do if you are going to spend the next 30 years or so doing it :D

Good Luck
