Well you have your wish now Dannager, CF is no more and is heading into the secular realm where you fit in nicely.

Please stay on topic Digit.

In addition, don't put words into my mouth.

Maturity is appreciated here. That kind of conduct is not.

Well, if you look at history that is a fact, kids will have sex, regardless. That's factual historical reality. Should we teach abstinence? Absolutely! However, we shouldn't ignore facts, should we?

I never said we should. It seems I'm being confused with those that advocate teaching abstinence only. I've said what I really do mean so many times in this thread that it would be foolish of me to assume that someone would actually listen if I said it again so I'll just go sit the the box that many seem to want to put me in and be quite.

What was the last sex ed class you were in?

Obviously considering my age it was a while ago. But the story at the beginning of this thread is an accurate portrayal of current situations isn't it?

Well, partly why I promote abstinance is becuz I DIDN"T PRACTICE IT MYSELF!
Now with that experience and hindsight, I see how damaging it actually WAS - alot of it was to my own self esteem, my worth & value as a person... placing more importance on outward appearance so I could Attract the guys...
guilt, rejection when they broke up with me after "putting out" was devestating....
I was one of the few lucky ones that in all my many escapades, I never had the terror of finding out I was pregnant or got any STD's!!!!!!!!!!

Abstinance shouldn't ONLY be taught for unwanted pregnancy & STD reasons, it affects our value and cheapens the meaning of it which later affects your eventual sex life after marriage (at least in many cases).

(nevermind the SPIRITUAL ramifications)... that's another page. :swoon:

It's wise on many levels; not just physical.

Sorry man, if I got your intention wrong. No offense. Don't mean to put you in a box. If what your saying is, abstinence should be taught as the method of choice while not ignoring other options. I agree. In fact, it's the only responsible thing to teach. All the while knowing that it's not going to take with many kids and there going to have sex, regardless.

That is exactly what I'm saying. And it is FAR FAR from what is actually taught. If it were taught as the most preferable choice, AND if it were portrayed, both in the classes and in society/media as a whole as an attainable goal, the number of kids having sex anyway would likely go way down. Something that would be good from virtually any standpoint, not just a religious one.

I think we're ruling out one major factor tho too - PARENTS .
Sexual education is only part of what guides a child/teen... how their raised at home & what they're parents display is the bigger factors.

My husband's daughter was on a baseball team and the parents acted worse than the kids! Horrible examples.
Fighting one another, cussing out the coaches/umpires, throwing tantrums...

Kids are also growing up in Godless environments & not being spiritually nurtured. Church isn't popular unless it's Easter Sunday or Christmas service.
Remove God and you're just asking kids to be moral becuz it's safer... when temptations come, what do they have in depth? some fear?
Heat of the moment usually ruled out my fear (I just got DRUNK to override it).
:swoon:

All I'm saying is, you're RIGHT & I agree, but more factors have a direct impact on why youth today is sexually promiscuous.(not to mention divorce in households where daughters don't have the affection of their fathers - it often causes them to seek love from guys.
